Nestled on Madoc Street in the heart of Llandudno, The Albert is more than just a pub—it's a warm hug in pint form. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a team of staff who genuinely seem to enjoy what they do, and it shows. Attentive without being intrusive, they strike that elusive balance between professionalism and the friendly banter that makes you feel instantly at home. The food? Superb. Whether you're diving into a classic Sunday Roast with all the trimmings, a hearty steak pie drenched in rich gravy, or one of the ever-changing specials (spring onion mash with smoked haddock was a personal highlight), every dish arrives looking—and tasting—like it was made by someone who cares. Proper portions, proper flavours, and the kind of comfort cooking that sticks with you. And let's talk ales. The Albert boasts a wide choice of hand-pulled beers from local and independent breweries, catering to both the curious sipper and the seasoned connoisseur. Whether you lean towards a bold bitter, a smooth stout or something lighter, the selection changes just enough to keep things interesting without sacrificing your favourites. Final verdict: If you're in Llandudno and not stopping by The Albert, you're missing a trick. Great food, great drinks, super staff—it’s everything a gastropub should be, and then some.

First visit to this establishment- it did not disappoint. I booked via telephone to Maddie , our table Was ready - where our host Stuart showed us to outdoor/ covered seating area . Dog friendly - both inside and outside . Great selection of drinks , served with a friendly smile . Menu was varied and looked exciting . The break between starter and mains was perfect . Showing that it was all Cooked freshly . Waiting service was attentive and appropriately timed . The food we ordered was presented very well, hot and delicious. Generous portions and super flavour combinations. Well Worth a visit , booking during seasonally busy periods is advisable . * Tried the Seasonal Menu in January 2024, opted for The Carvery Pie , Chips with sprouts, carrots, and red cabbage . Service was excellent , however this meal fell very short of what I expected , the pie was shop bought -Not homemade ( or appeared to look and taste that way ), little or Nothing resembling any type of meat filling , pastry was generic processed type , chips looked like frozen steak style chips , and gravy had hardly any flavour. Overall it was not value for money or good quality in anyway .

I love this bar/ restaurant. And I often eat there with friends or alone. Why? The staff are friendly, efficient, & knowledgeable about the menu & drinks available. The menu is exciting compared with the usual chips with everything dining experience on the average High Street. I had a late lunch l, so it was pleasantly quite, but enough diners we’re still eating. The delicious & beautifully presented prawn cocktail & jacket potato is a complete meal. It comes with coleslaw & a side salad. When I asked for olive oil it wasn’t a problem & speedily delivered to my table. (Unlike a similar request at Holiday Inn Manchester : where I was told chef didn’t have any). The building itself is attractive & located behind the main shopping street. It was a cold blustery day but the interior was warm and inviting. Weekends & evenings are popular, booking is essential.

Took my parents here on my birthday for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. On arrival it was reasonably quiet, but we must have just beaten the lunchtime rush, as within half an hour of our arrival most of the tables were taken. Staff were friendly and helpful and the menu had a good selection of dishes. Parents both ordered a smaller dish, dad had fish and chips and mum had lasagne, with a side order of chips. Both meals were still plentiful on the plate and were more than enough for either of them. I had the steak burger and chips. The burger was rather dry which was a shame as the rest of the meal was delicious. The chips were something very special, huge doorsteps which made you wonder just how large the potatoes actually were, but cooked to perfection, crispy and browned on the outside but beautifully fluffy on the inside. Some of the best chips I have ever tasted, though again probably far too many of them on the plate for a lunchtime meal. We shared dessert, 2 between the 3 of us, well it was my birthday! Dad had the toffee apple crumble with custard which was delicious, but the total star of the entire show, which eclipsed even the perfect chips, was the most enormous piece of sticky toffee pudding I think I have ever seen. It was liberally coated in toffee sauce, and I had asked for cream instead of ice cream. The cream was in a little jug, but to be honest, I really didn't need it at all. The sponge was so moist it literally melted in your mouth. I was full after a couple of mouthfuls, but there was no way I was not going to finish that pudding! I did eventually have to admit defeat, but it was only the last few spoonfuls that completely beat me. With the 25% off food offer for January and February, this was a lunch very much worth repeating, in fact we'll probably be back next week 😁! All in all a perfect birthday...

Sunday carvery £9.95 per adult person . Booked in at 1.45pm and we were finally served our food an hour later Covid precautions are slowing Carvery service down a lot . Laugh is about 45mins later after we were served probably 2.30pm the place was 3/4 empty so had we known book for a later time and have breakfast . All 3 meats on offer were nice a thick slice of each . Ham , Beef , Turkey . Nice selection of vegetables cabbage , carrots , green beans , cauliflower cheese . Only complaint I could muster was the Yorkshire puddings were over done and the roast potatoes were not crispy at all however they were still well cooked through . My Wife had half mash half roast and said the mash potatoes were very nice Gravy was very nice for a pub just the right consistency neither too thick or too runny and it had good flavour . The pub itself is very nicely decorated and has a few areas one of which is dog friendly . I would recommend booking as we turned up on Monday night to eat and got turned away no tables available not a problem as we should have booked after we ate our Sunday lunch just locally at home you can get a table most places anytime so never thought about booking with covid and table service it's probably changed things . During the week the kitchen shuts at 9.30pm so last orders I would presume if you want to eat last orders at 8.30pm to the kitchen . Overall a very nice place to eat slightly on the expensive side , but good quality from what we had so sometime you get what you pay for . Sunday carvery was £9.95...

I'm not sure if we were just unlucky on this visit to Llandudno, or whether the food fairies were out to get us, but after one really disappointing meal in another establishment the night before, lo and behold, The Albert decided to disappoint us too. This was one of the places we had to book a table for and as it was much in demand, we thought Yes! We are going to have an edible meal. No! We didn't! Maybe we expect too much, but we do really like food that's cooked properly and appears on your plate in the manner it's referred to in the menu. The starters, of Halloumi Fries and sauce was lovely, both me and OH had this dish. Next, OH had Chicken Tikka Masala - well, that's what he ordered, but the chicken hadn't been marinated so he basically got give a chicken curry. I ordered Mediterranean Vegetable Lasagna, I didn't get it, but I ordered it. What I got were two soggy pieces of pasta containing three pieces of aubergine and four bits of tomato. Any sauce which the lasagna may have contained had evaporated like scotch mist. To be fair, the manager was very apologetic and handled our complaint very amiably, insisting that our two desserts were 'on the house'. I had vanilla and forest fruit cheesecake with cream and the OH enjoyed apple crumble and custard. One thing the Albert did have going for it was a really pleasant atmosphere, a nice vibe, shame...
