I recently visited a Starbucks location, and my experience was nothing short of disappointing. As a foreigner in the area, I was hopeful for a warm welcome and the usual Starbucks charm, but what I encountered was a stark contrast to my expectations.
Upon entering the café, I was greeted with indifference from the staff. The employees seemed more focused on their conversations among themselves than on providing customer service. I stood at the counter for several minutes before someone even acknowledged my presence. When I finally got the attention of a barista to place my order, their tone was curt and dismissive. It felt as if my presence was an inconvenience to them rather than an opportunity to provide service.
What struck me the most was the lack of patience shown towards customers who didn't speak English fluently. When I struggled to articulate my order, instead of offering assistance or a friendly smile, the employee rolled their eyes and sighed loudly. Such behavior is not only unprofessional but also incredibly unwelcoming to those of us who are trying our best to navigate a different culture. It’s disheartening to think that a global brand like Starbucks, known for its inclusivity and community spirit, would allow its employees to treat anyone—especially foreigners—so rudely.
I observed similar interactions with other non-English speaking customers. It was clear that the staff had little to no understanding of how to handle situations with empathy and professionalism. Instead of fostering an environment of warmth and kindness, they perpetuated feelings of alienation and frustration.
Starbucks prides itself on being a "third place" where people can gather and feel at home, but my experience left me feeling unwelcome and disheartened. I left the store with my order, but not before vowing never to return.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend this Starbucks location to anyone, especially to foreigners who might expect a friendly atmosphere. There are plenty of other coffee shops that appreciate diversity and treat all customers with respect. Save yourself the trouble and seek out a place where you will be welcomed with open arms rather...
Read moreVery crowded, it is not easy to find a place to sit, its prices are high compared to the Turkish market, its prices are very reasonable and less than Jordan, the Gulf countries and Palestine, the best thing it has is American coffee that distinguishes it from most coffee shops and the cold red hibiscus drink, not the best of the rest of the varieties It has and can accept latte and mocha as a second option. It closes early compared to its location inside the Historia Mall. It is suitable as a quick option for drinking coffee. Not satisfied with Starbucks in Turkey in general, since it does not apply the policy of dealing with the customer that exists in most countries of the world, such as refilling Americano coffee and Often, customer complaints are not responded to seriously, and I previously emailed them, and their response was that Starbucks in Turkey does not apply some policies as it is in Jordan and some other countries, according to Starbucks' global policy of dealing...
Read moreThe reason for a 4 star is the Baristas here are doing a great job. Well balanced good coffees.
The internet does not work and my coffee shop would have interacted with customers more and make them feel like home. There is always room for additional service so that the customers feel like they want to return back for more and more...
Another matter is that! The Internet does not work here WiSpotter does not work. Invest in good WiFi services for your customers, change passcodes every two to three days or weekly so you prevent unwanted usage.
Starbucks surely you can do more! Another curious matter is, why is this an alshaya company managing this Starbucks? Isn’t this company from Saudi?
More regular cleaning can be done table to table as this was not as frequent as it should have been.
Well done to the cashiers...
