I picked this restaurant to eat at, because while looking at reviews on Google- all reviews from Chinese people for this restaurant were VERY positive, whereas reviews from non-Chinese people seemed negative. I wanted to go to a place that was very authentic. And felt this would make it very legit if Chinese people have positive things to say.
Unfortunately, there were no appetizers given at the beginning of the meal. In Turkey this is a very common thing give before the meal. Apparently at Peking, it is not the case.
We ordered the cashew chicken and rice. We asked for no spice. This dish was great and tasty. We also ordered this noodle soup, with medium heat. But it was SO hot. Our mouths were on the verge of death. Very spicy.
When we got our bill, we noticed the KDV is added on to the price. So be aware of this when you go.
Our conclusion is that this place might be great, authentic, and delicious to Chinese people. But to foreign palette, it was way too hot. If I were to come again, I might not be so adventurous as to get a spicy meal I have...
Read moreFried aubergine with minced meat was tasty, portion was big (80 lira). Plain rice small bowl 15 lira. But soups were so bad, it tasted just like water from bottle and few ingredients swimming in there, no flavor, it was a disaster, photos in menu don’t match the real served food. “Wonton-soup” it’s just a cup with hot water with no flavor and 4 wontons swimming there, wontons probably have been frozen for many months in the freezer, they had no flavor (35 lira for a bad dish). And also “minced beef soup with tomatoes and shiitake mushrooms” it had no flavor, they just poured water in a cup , added a bit of ingredients on top, no seasoning , no flavor, and it looked like somebody puked in my bowl, picture from menu was much better… soups are disaster, I don’t recommend. I saw Chinese people leaving this restaurant with food 50-70% on their plates unfinished…
I recommend aubergine dish with minced meat. I guess menu here is like a lottery, some dishes are good, some are bad.
Prices are crazy , hot dishes cost 100-400 lira… small portion of...
Read moreWe had dumplings, chicken and mushroom soup, chicken noodle soup, calamari, tripe in red oil, orange juice and iced tea. This cost us TRY 1,903 in total.
Everything was bland apart from the tripe.
The dumplings was served on a warm plate but they’re cold and wrapper was still tough, looked boiled not steamed (not even drained properly) and no dipping sauce given to us. Chicken and mushroom soup is just that — chicken, mushroom, and bland broth, no veg or garnish. A few pieces of thin, bland Calamari cost 590 (you could get way better portion for less than 400 in another restaurant) the dipping sauce was good though. Generous serving of chicken noodle soup, but we had to put a lot of soy sauce and salt as it has no taste. Iced tea is in can, cost 65 lira (you can buy the exact same can in the grocery nearby for 10 lira), not even served with a glass of ice, just plastic straw.
Maybe the other dishes are good, but we were disappointed with almost everything that we ordered. And we feel like the dishes...
