Prego's Restaurant in Abu Dhabi Mall is a delightful Italian dining destination that offers an authentic taste of Italy right in the heart of the city. As a self-proclaimed lover of Italian cuisine, I was eager to experience what Prego's had to offer, and it surpassed all expectations.
The restaurant's ambiance exudes warmth and sophistication, with its charming rustic decor and inviting atmosphere. Upon entering, I was greeted with a friendly smile and promptly escorted to my table by the attentive staff, who made sure I felt welcomed and comfortable throughout the evening.
The menu at Prego's features a wide selection of traditional Italian dishes, expertly crafted by talented chefs who have a passion for Italian culinary traditions. For starters, I chose the Caprese Salad, a classic combination of fresh mozzarella, juicy tomatoes, and fragrant basil, drizzled with a rich balsamic reduction. The flavors danced harmoniously on my palate, setting the tone for a delightful meal.
Moving on to the main course, I opted for the Ravioli Ricotta e Spinaci, a dish that showcased the restaurant's commitment to using the finest ingredients. The homemade ravioli was generously filled with creamy ricotta cheese and spinach, served in a delectable tomato and basil sauce. Each bite was a burst of flavor, and the pasta was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of bite.
My dining companion chose the Quattro Formaggi Pizza, a cheesy delight topped with a mouthwatering blend of four cheeses: mozzarella, gorgonzola, fontina, and parmesan. The thin crust was wonderfully crispy, providing the ideal base for the luscious cheese medley. It was a pizza lover's dream come true, and we savored every bite.
To complete our Italian feast, we indulged in Tiramisu for dessert. The velvety mascarpone cheese and coffee-soaked ladyfingers were a match made in dessert heaven, leaving us in a state of pure culinary bliss.
Throughout the meal, the service at Prego's was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to cater to our preferences. The sommelier was especially helpful in recommending the perfect wine pairing for our meal, enhancing the overall dining experience.
One aspect that stood out to me was the authenticity of the flavors at Prego's. Each dish was prepared with precision and care, capturing the essence of Italian cuisine and transporting me to the heart of Italy with every bite.
In conclusion, Prego's Restaurant in Abu Dhabi Mall is a must-visit destination for anyone seeking an authentic Italian dining experience. From the inviting ambiance to the delectable dishes and attentive service, Prego's excels in delivering a taste of Italy in the heart of Abu Dhabi. Whether you're a fan of Italian cuisine or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, Prego's is a culinary gem that...
Read moreMy husband and I were really excited to try a new place on a beautiful night. In all honesty - our entire experience may have been different with a different server. But we had Sajid. And he was the absolute worst of the worst. Didn’t say hello when he walked up to our table. Greeted us with “do you know what you want to drink”. No fluff. No welcome. No smile. No explanation of the menu. We ordered water and when he returned we ordered a bottle of wine. After ten mins he returned to vaguely point at the menu that what we ordered was out…so we ordered something else. When he returned i asked “so this is our first time here…can you explain the menu…talk about the restaurant?….” And he said “we are Italian. We open at 11am” and looked completely irritated. So i asked “is your pasta made fresh in house?” And he pointed to two pastas. So we ordered, and then another ten mins later he came back to say “we’re out of the burrata”. No offer of something else…no apology. So we asked for more bread. It never came.
Then my pasta was delivered but not my husbands. Several mins passed and another server came to ask what the problem was with my food since i wasn’t eating it. I told them “I’m waiting to eat until my husbands food arrives…is it coming?…” and it finally arrived five mins later. (Mine was quickly getting cold).
We never saw our server again after ordering our food. No exaggeration. He never returned. Another sweet server nearby (Babysoe) offered to take our photo and cleared our dirty plates. She also took our additional drink order since our bottle and wine glasses were empty. We tipped her separately since our server, Sajid, couldn’t be bothered and avoided my eye contact the two times i saw him after ordering our food.
Babysoe is the only reason we would consider returning. She and Catherine (hostess) were absolutely lovely and tried hard to provide good service. Leadership needs to reconsider Sajid as a front of house colleague - he absolutely ruined our experience and shouldn’t be guest facing.
Will not return as there are far better options at Cafe Milano at the Four Seasons with fresher pasta and more competent service. Shame, because there’s a lot of potential, but the food...
Read moreOur guest, my family and I had a terrible experience at Prego’s tonight. It was my idea to come tonight as I used to love the place. I’m so sad and upset to say, the service was extremely slow and I had to raise my hand up high for a while for someone to see us. The food we received tasted bad and looked terrible. We ordered two soups the huge plates arrived only to be surprised with the very small amount of soup in the plate and when I inquired about it I was told, that they might have split the order, but I never I asked for that. On top of that it did not taste good and was not hot. Our guest ordered the cotalleta di pollo and what he received was just awful. Only a small dry small round of a chicken came with nothing next to it even though on the menu it said otherwise. I would not even serve this plate to my pet at home. What a shame for this restaurant to reach this low. I was upset and went to talk to the chef and he just stared at me with a frown without an apology or even a small sorry. This was the last draw for me as he was very disrespectful with his demeanor even though it was his and his kitchen’s mistake. I did complain to the manager and she was apologetic, but by then the whole experience was just shattered. This restaurant was one of my favorites, but after this service and food it has dropped significantly. We actually had to leave right after because of this awful experience. Shame on you Prego’s and extremely shame on you to the chef. Someone really needs to train him regarding how he interacts with his customers, especially when he makes such a terrible and ugly mistake. I’m actually still upset as I’m...
