🍽️A Feast for the Eyes, but a Letdown for the Palate and Service🍽️

My honest review of a restaurant that left me with mixed feelings. While the interior was undeniably stunning, my experience with the food and service fell short of expectations. Let’s dive in! 🍽️❌

First things first, the decor was a perfect blend of modern elegance and cozy vibes. Every corner is a truly Instagram worthy atmosphere. 😍✨

However, as much as I wanted to love this place, the food and service left much to be desired. 🙁 The menu boasted an array of tantalizing dishes, but unfortunately, the execution did not match the promises. The flavors were lackluster (pasta was undercooked, not al dente, but undercooked), and the presentation failed to impress (mold on raspberries on beetroot salad). It was disheartening to see such beautiful plates with underwhelming taste.

Moreover, the service was a letdown. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive throughout my visit. It took an eternity to get their attention, and even then, the service lacked warmth and enthusiasm. It’s disappointing when you’re excited to dine out and receive subpar treatment. Not to mention, the table which I booked 3 days before, still had to wait for 40 mins.

While the interior design of this restaurant was undeniably a feast for the eyes, it’s crucial to remember that a memorable dining experience is about more than just aesthetics. The food and service play an equally important role in creating a truly satisfying visit. Unfortunately, this restaurant fell short in those aspects. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It was almost inappropriate to pay as much as Eugène Eugène was requesting when the bill arrived. If only the effort they put in the atmosphere translated into the food. Three of my friends and I who are very passionate about food and the intricacies of flavour could not have been more disappointed by the experience that we had at this venue. The waiters had no idea about the wines, we ordered sweet and they gave us bitter options. The menu items were beyond confusing to navigate and the descriptions did not help. I had the waiter assist me with our orders and it was evident they didn’t even try the dishes.

I had the unfortunate pleasure of being served the Bavette à l’enchalote (cooked medium). A fancy way of saying piece of meat, with a crispy outer layer and I felt like I was doing jaw exercises by the amount of chewing I had to undergo for one bite. There was absolutely no effort on the presentation, in fact it was literally a piece of meat on a plate with oil leaking out all sides. It tasted quite dry and I had to order hot sauce on the side.

The starters for the most were quite okay-ish with little to no interesting/unique flavouring.

My friends were also equally disappointed with their orders, Spinach & Ricotta Ravioli, Crozets à la Truffle. All the food had minimal taste and we couldn’t finish it. When we requested takeaway bags, the restaurant declined and said they didn’t have any.

My honest recommendation if you’re looking for a good night out is to stay away from this restaurant. Unless you’re planning to just go have (ridiculously overpriced) drinks.
