I have visited XU restaurant last night, a new Chinese restaurant in Dubai, and the culinary journey was quite delightful.
Below are the dishes I had with the rating.
BLACK PEPPER WAGYU BEEF PUFF with Spring onion (9/10): Exquisite taste and a perfect balance of flavors make this dish a standout.
DIM SUM PLATTER (8/10): A variety of flavors showcased in this platter, earning a solid. Just the way they are supposed to be (8/10)
CHARCOAL GRILLED WAGYU BEEF RIBEYE with Spicy peanut sauce (8.5/10): Impressive taste of the beef with a hint of the charcoal grilling and a well-balanced blend of flavors with the peanut sauce, scoring an 8.5/10.
KING CRAB & CRYSTAL NOODLE SALAD with Cucumber, coriander (6.5/10): Some room for improvement, expected a bit more flavor, it fell slightly short, earning a (6.5/10)
WOK FRIED TIGER PRAWNS with Ginger, garlic, red chilli, crispy rice noodle (9/10): Stole the show for its impressive flavors, the tenderness of the prawns with the flavors of the sauce 👌.
EGG VEGETABLE SINGAPORE RICE NOODLE with Egg, beansprout (8/10): A satisfying blend of textures and flavors, a very good side dish for the prawns. A solid (8/10)
CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT TOFU PUDDING with Chocolate ice cream (7/10): Flavorful, but it needs more hazelnut. It would have completed the taste and make it a well rounded dessert. Scored a 7/10.
In summary, XU presents a diverse and flavorful menu with standout dishes like the WAGYU BEEF PUFF and TIGER PRAWNS. While a few items may benefit from minor adjustments, the overall experience was delightful, and I would highly recommend exploring their...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of visiting a fantastic Cantonese restaurant for Saturday brunch, and it truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we appreciated the convenience of ample parking, which made the experience all the more stress free. The ambiance was vibrant and lively a perfect mix of traditional flavors and modern entertainment.
What really sets this place apart is the unique brunch experience they offer. In addition to a delicious spread of authentic Cantonese cuisine, the restaurant goes above and beyond by including live DJ music and karaoke sessions, creating a festive and enjoyable atmosphere for all ages. There were also engaging activities such as treasure hunts (which of course the kids love it) and small live performances throughout the brunch, which added an unexpected but delightful twist to the dining experience.
The food selection was impressive, with a wide variety of options and live food counters that allowed us to enjoy freshly prepared dishes made to order. Every dish we tried was flavorful and well presented, capturing the essence of traditional Cantonese cooking with a contemporary touch.
The restaurant also features a beautifully designed outdoor seating area, perfect for those who prefer dining al fresco. The staff were extremely courteous and friendly, enhancing the overall experience with their attentive service. All in all, this is a must visit spot for anyone looking to enjoy great food, fun entertainment, and a warm,...
Read moreTerrible Experience – Overpriced
I rarely write negative reviews, but my experience at XU Dubai for brunch was honestly one of the worst I’ve had in the city. For the premium price they charge, I expected far better in every aspect.
First, let’s talk brunch rules – overly strict and confusing. It felt more like we were at a school cafeteria than a high-end brunch. Everything was delayed, and the flow of service was chaotic. You're constantly left wondering what you’re allowed to order, when, and how. They left you no choice but to pay as they are charging when the Brunch is about to finish. ( FYI, we use entertainer)
The food service was okay, didn't have many options.
As for drinks, forget it. You’ll be waiting forever for anything to show up. When they do come around, the options are a joke – if you're a beer drinker, your only option is Moretti, and it's already a premium option. Really? At these prices? No variety, no premium options, nothing resembling value for money.
The biggest letdown, however, was the attitude of the staff. I don’t usually call people out, but Supan in particular was incredibly rude and dismissive. Hospitality seemed like an afterthought – we felt like a burden instead of welcomed guests. A lot of my friends are upset with her because the way she treats us is so disrespectful
Overall, this place is all hype and zero substance. Save your money and your weekend – there are FAR better brunch spots in Dubai that actually deliver on food, drinks,...
