I had a sumptuous Saturday dinner at Günaydın Bluewaters Island. Günaydın is located near Ain Dubai/Dubai Eye, right in front of the Bluewaters Promenade/Wharf.The resto interiors/surroundings had a classy and refined feel, and the outdoor seating areas overlook both the Dubai Marina and Atlantis the Royal hotel in Palm Jumeirah.
The reason why I'm giving this resto only 4 stars out of 5 is because I was initially seated on the second floor balcony area, but I opted to move down to the ground floor instead because there were people smoking, and the tobacco odor was quite overpowering. There were some people smoking in the outdoor section of the ground floor as well, but it was the odor was not as overpowering as that on the second floor.
For the mains and appetizers , my group and I had a Pide dish, a Antep Fıstıklı Kebap, a Rib-eye steak with sides of Turkish white rice, and a Surf-and-Turf selection. I thought that the Pide was a bit underwhelming and lacking in flavor, but I loved the Antep Fıstıklı Kebap as the kebab's lamb meat was very soft and tender, and was packed with a bunch of spices inside. Whenever you take a bite of the kebab it's like a pleasant medley of flavors bursting in your mouth.
In my opinion, the Surf-and Turf selection and the Rib-eye steak were a bit lacking in flavor even when you dipped the lobster/steak in their sauces.
For dessert, we had Kunafa and Baklava, served with Turkish tea. The Baklava was quite sweet, but it was delicious and I think it's the perfect dessert to eat after you've had a hearty dinner and when you want to "wash away" the taste of the other meats and dishes you've eaten. The Kunafa was okay, I've definitely tasted better Kunafa at other restos.
Service at Günaydın Bluewaters is what you'd expect from a resto with this price range. Ahmet, our service assistant from the night, was kind and accommodating, and was very attentive to our requests. I'd also like to commend the rest of the staff at Günaydın as well whose names I've forgotten, because these staff members made sure that we had our parking tickets validated, which my group and I almost forgot...(Parking in Bluewaters Island is free if you have it validated, as long as you spend a minimum of 100 AED at any resto in...

I had high expectations for Günaydin Dubai, given its location, brand reputation, and my frequent travels to Turkey, where I’ve enjoyed authentic Turkish cuisine. Unfortunately, this visit was a letdown in almost every aspect.
The evening started on a positive note, with a friendly hostess who seated us at a lovely outdoor table overlooking the sea. However, things quickly took a turn. When the waiter arrived, I asked about gluten-free options. He initially claimed they could prepare gluten-free bread—a surprising and unusual statement—only for the supervisor to immediately contradict him and confirm it wasn’t possible.
We ordered a starter and a main each. While we were still eating the starter, the mains arrived, leaving my grilled lamb chops cold by the time I got to them. The lamb chops themselves were disappointing: tiny portions served without sides, more akin to an amuse-bouche than a main course. After dinner, we ordered tea, which took over 10 minutes to arrive and required a follow-up with a different waiter.
To add insult to injury, I left the restaurant hungry and had to stop elsewhere for food on the way home. For a restaurant of this caliber and cost, this is unacceptable.
Günaydin Dubai does not live up to the standards of Turkish cuisine or the ambiance one would expect from the brand. The overpriced menu, subpar food, and poor service made for a thoroughly unsatisfying experience. If you’re in Bluewaters, I strongly recommend exploring other dining options that offer better value and quality.
Avoid this one—it’s simply...
Read moreTo start with DON’T DINE IN AT THIS PLACE. i’ll be mentioning the pros & cons of the food, service & atmosphere.
FOOD :- Pros - the food is tasty, but not extremely fascinating. Cons - the quantities were to less to even fill a baby’s belly. • Menu Variety: Did the menu offer a good range of options ? NO • Value for Money: Was the pricing fair for the quality and portion size ? NO, a BIG NO • Dietary Accommodations: Were dietary restrictions and preferences considered ? NO
FOOD RATE :- Below Average, as quantities matter for me
Service :- ONLY CONS Customer Service • Friendliness and Attitude: Were the staff welcoming, polite, and professional? NO • Responsiveness: Did they attend to you promptly and address your needs? NO • Knowledge: Could the staff answer questions about the menu or make good recommendations? NO • Problem Resolution: How well did they handle any issues or requests? NO
And with a cherry on top of the above cons, they have charged me a 10% tip without me noticing, and when i went back home i figured it out, and when i called them they even didn’t apologize about it, but i manage to convince them to transfer the amount back to me, but i am still waiting for it.
Atmosphere :- we were close to the kitchen and their hood, air extract system is not operating properly and we were able to smell all of the food being cooked, so sit away for kitchen
