La Pergola Restaurant and Cafe — Restaurant in Dubai

‼️DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL‼️A dissapointing culinary experience. We were invited inside by a gentleman staying in front of the restaurant & we gave in pretty easily as we eagerly wanted to find a place that has a good shawarma. The ambient, the restaurant itself & the staff were pretty nice, but the food was disastrous. We ordered 2 types of food, a traditional turkish dish with cheese and egg and a chicken shawarma.

🙈 The shawarma portion was very small, very dry, tasteless, expensive for the quality of the meal. The fries were only a few, not tasty either, no salt whatsoever. We got a garlic sauce within the dish in a huge cup that was 1/4 full, there were 2 pumps of sauce in there at most, 🙈 The traditional cheese and egg turkish dish had the taste of a 1 day old pizza and it had no egg in it whatsoever. The only good aspect of it (if I may call it like that) was that it was hot. Even though I told them at the end about the missing egg they tried to convince me there was in fact an egg in the dish, but "it melted" and that "you could clearly see it in the picture". I kid you not... There was no egg! :)🍳

We paid a total of 120 AED (150,24 RON in Romanian currency) for an awful experience. 👎 Expensive and BAD...

Food was great I ordered lahmacun but I wanted some adjustment to the ingredient and the floor manager and chef were very flexible and did the adjustment to the ingredients they way I wanted it , the appetisers r fine nothing wrong with it , the ambience is beautiful and they started some nice idea for live saxophone show which gives the place a good vibe , location is good right at the beginning of the marina walk . The service is spectacular the staff and the floor manager and even the owner are very flexible to the customer's special requests and willing to make adjustments to the orders . The service provided by staff is really great and sounds genuine by all the team members as they r very attentive and polite and helpful giving great customer service. There is a large variety of syrian meals and continental meals available however there could be more homemade dishes as syrian cuisine is very rich in various types of food and some particular types of meals that I like I didn't find them in the menu . La Pergola at Dubai Marina offers a charming ambiance with warm and friendly staff who make you feel welcome from the moment you step in. The service is truly commendable, and the people working there add a touch of hospitality that is much appreciated.

However, when it comes to the food, it falls short of expectations. Despite an extensive menu with a wide variety of dishes, the quality remains quite average. Rather than focusing on an overwhelming selection, it would be much better to refine the menu to include only a few standout, flavorful dishes.

Pricing is another concern—while Dubai is known for its high-end dining, charging AED 55 for a single coconut water is beyond excessive. Many of the dishes, though decent, do not justify the high price tag.

Overall, La Pergola excels in service but needs serious improvement in food quality and pricing. A more curated menu with refined flavors and reasonable pricing would make this place a much better...
