Lakeview — Restaurant in Dubai

My partner and I arrived in the restaurant at 2PM and the restaurant was full due to the car show happening in the Golf Club. Server Sanindya (or something like that) took our order. We ordered bottle of water, duck pancake, chicken tikka and pork short ribs. The bottled water arrived after 30mins, by this time we were really hungry but waited for the food since we know it's really full. At around 2:50PM, the duck pancake and chicken tikka arrived. We thought the ribs will follow shortly after but at around 3:00 it still hasn't arrived and I followed up my order. The same server checked what happened (after an hour of waiting). At 3:10 we were still waiting for the food and an explanation, and the server told us that the ribs were out of stock! If I didn't follow-up we'll be waiting for nothing! We asked her why she didn't tell us from the start that it was out of stock and we could have ordered something else! She said she wasn't informed by the kitchen that it was out of stock! Nobody was even checking if everything was ok and orders have been served! A very poor customer service! We were asked to order another but we just paid what was served and left, we couldn't wait another hour! We wanted to talk to the manager but he was busy handling another customer complaint!

For anyone who has been in Dubai long enough, the Dubai Creek Golf Club, and in particular the Lakeview Restaurant is a landmark. The restaurant never fails when it comes to the great food, amazing views and the nice crowds that gather there. Though, like most older restaurants sometimes complacency is the biggest killer and this time it hit with a matter related to hygiene which is paramount these days. The Table smelled and no matter what we tried to wipe it with it still smelled bad. Didn't stop us from enjoying a great meal but we just left right after rather than the usual ritual of enjoying some drinks and spending time there after our meal. Otherwise, the place is still magical and we will surely go back... Hopefully to a better...
