Having read mixed reviews , we eventually decided to have dinner at this restaurant. We arrived with a reservation in hand and were seated next to the reception . We felt hurried from the moment we sat down. We felt uncomfortable since there were several female employees standing behind us, chatting and gossiping, and keeping an eye on our table .The servers knew very little about their menu .As it was our first time visiting there, we were anticipating that they would explain the menu, but the staff were least keen on doing such . The food in itself was okay. As we were done with our starters , we asked if we could have our plates changed, that too was not accommodated. we did not feel welcomed at any point of our visit , besides the male staff who chaperoned us to our table was nice . The ladies attending us were reluctant to reply our queries and one of the staff member even snapped out the menu out of our table while we were choosing our beverages . we chose not to address it then and there as we simply wanted to have a good time . The service was rather underwhelming . all little things that were just indicating that they were racially profiling us . Overall , the experience did not live up to the expectation and it was a total waste of money . we were treated like we were there for free food . Although its unlimited menu , we were still very mindful and conscious of portions we ordered how ever we were constantly reminded that we would be charged 50% off the total bill had we ordered extra . As someone who comes from a customer service background myself , me and my friends didn't enjoy our time there and were not at all impressed by the service. We don't see ourselves returning at any point in the future . Advice to any one planning to pay a visit , there are plenty of other nice places around , do not bother . Rude , discourteous and un attentive hostesses . We did express our disappointment at one point as we could not enjoy our dinner but it was clear they did not care to...
Read moreThank you for yesterday. As always, I appreciate the food; it was very tasty. However, I have some feedback regarding the experience, especially considering this is an unlimited package.
Firstly, I wish I had been informed during the multiple conversations we had prior to the visit, that lobster and lamb chop mains were not part of the evening menu. I had assured my 11 guests they could choose between these options, so it was very embarrassing to find out otherwise. This should have been clearly communicated as a day brunch-only option. Because of this miscommunication, we all ordered only starters and appetizers for the first hour, expecting an entrée at the end.
Secondly, I believe each person should be allowed to order for themselves rather than having one person order for the entire table. With a large gathering, it was difficult to track how many of each item was received. Given that it's an unlimited package, everyone should be able to select and enjoy their choices in the quantities they desire.
Strangely, (for the first time) basic provisions like cutlery, glasses and drinking water took forever to receive, with my guests having to remind the staff repeatedly. The birthday cake we brought was destroyed by the staff, who tore it apart using a fork instead of the knife cutter we brought and gave her. You will agree these things are easily avoided with a little more care and attention to detail.
Lastly, the wait time between orders was extremely long. I arrived at 8:15, and by 9:15, I was told the last order was being taken. With such long intervals between courses, it's impossible to order and enjoy more. The staff kept checking with me on what we had or had not received, it was confusing and embarrassing. Despite this, guests end up paying per head, irrespective.
I have always enjoyed coming to Han Shi Fu and have brought several guests over time. However, yesterday's experience was far from satisfactory, very unlike...
