Cielo Sky Lounge — Restaurant in Dubai

This was my first time at the Cielo Sky Lounge and I had a very terrible experience here. Upon arriving, we were seated next to someone that was smoking. Due to health concerns, I asked that we be moved. We found a table near the entrance but were then told we either needed to give our payment method in advance or pay in advance because the area didn’t have a lot of staff and they were afraid we would leave without paying. We were puzzled and a bit embarrassed to think they thought we would do something of that nature, my guest and I were both professionally working people, but we were informed that was their policy, so we obliged.

Later on in the night a group of individuals arrived and sat at the same table as us (two of these individuals pulled out a cigarette and were smoking but we understand that’s not something you can control). What was upsetting was the fact that these individuals who arrived were not given the same speech about restaurant policies or asked to pay in advance. It’s 2019, and I pray it has nothing to do with the fact that my guest and I are black but nonetheless it made for a very troubling experience.

Based on my experience at this establishment, I would not return. If I could advise the staff and owner, I would recommend you not choose who should pay in advance, it can come off as...
