Very poor show of customer service and cleanliness.

On arrival you walk in to a large space with plenty of room to move without disturbing others enjoying a coffee.

Then it goes down hill

You queue behind the 1 person waiting to get served by the 3 people that are so busy doing anything else other that serving customers. Some 7 minutes later you get served with hardly any interaction, noup selling or even getting the order correct.

You then move to the waiting area where the customer serve is no better.

The coffee and cake is chucked on a tray and you are left to guess that your order is complete or no. No conversation of would you like sugar or a spoon. Nothing.

The seating is very spacious and in general it's a really nice area to chill, use laptops, chat with friends and generally enjoy.

Just a shame the the staff have no customer service...

When you arrive at the café you might be surprised by how many vegan cakes they have on offer - I certainly was. Plant-milks were a surcharge of 40p unless you're buying soya. They had a Vegan Meatball wrap which was surprisingly filling and tasty with a lovely crunch to it as well.

Unfortunately when I ordered an oat-milk mocha my hot drink came with cows milk instead. I had a few of my vegan friends double check the taste for me and we all agreed. So I went back and got them to remake it. When I realised I took it back and they quickly made a fresh one.

I was disappointed. I won't be going there for hot drinks again. I might buy a cake or a vegan meatball wrap if they still have them after Veganuary but the milk surcharge and the risk of getting cows milk just isn't worth it.

Pros: Vegan cake options, Vegan meatball wrap

Cons: Was...

I've had a very disappointing experience from Coffee#1 today. I went to the Riverside shop first which was closed due to staff shortages, therefore decided to walk to the city centre location where again, due to staff shortages you've only served drinks in takeaway cups (not so much environmental friendly). Said staff shortages on the sign however 3 member of staff were having a fun time behind the counter chatting, illustrating their fun stories with pictures/videos on their mobiles barely paying attention to people trying to order, no customer service whatsoever. The male staff member looked quite neglect with his peeling black nail polish and not someone you'd be happy to be served your food by. This was definitely not what I'm used to...

What an amazing coffee shop. I came to visit from Chester where we have coffee shops coming out of our ears but only the top one or two could line up against this place. It's a huge place so atmosphere might be minimal but I can't talk to it since I was only popping in for a take out. The coffee I had was excellent and the selection of pastries for breakfast and cakes for brunch is huge. On top of this two hot drinks and two pasties came out at £10! That's simply not possible in the chains! What a great place. Make sure you visit when you are next in Bath!

Visited here on a busy Saturday afternoon. Although it was extremely busy and they were short staffed with only one person serving and one person clearing and cleaning tables, the service was good, a bit of a wait to get served, but server apologised to everyone and tables were cleared promptly. Good coffee as usual and great choice of very tasty cakes. Worth a visit if you like relaxing with a nice coffee ☕️ and good food 🍰.
