Italian Pizzeria Café 84 — Restaurant in Bath

In this tiny unassuming Cafe from the outside, I DID NOT EXPECT TO COME HERE AND BE HIT OVER THE HEAD WITH THIS LEVEL OF FOOD. Seriously, the seafood risotto was the best risotto I've ever eaten, and I ate my way through a lot of risotto in Italy. I'm not a huge fan of mussels but these were so fresh with no fishy taste at all. The prawns and calamari were cooked perfectly. Not rubbery in the least. Not to mention, the amount of seafood in the portion is crazy! I was expecting like 2 mussels, 2 prawns and a few calamari, but I got about 10 mussels in there, 6 or so prawns and a bunch of calamari. The antipasti board was LIFE giving harmony in. my. face. Been here multiple times and had a great experience each time This is some of the best Italian food I have had in the south west, including Bristol. I came back and it was great each time so consistency points make this a genuine 5 star.

The pizzas were quite light, like something you would get abroad. The Carbonara is made with Egg! Hallelujah! and no cream. It is so much better this way and this is one of the few places that does it. The calamari was great too! difficult to get right

The place has outside and inside seating. I was worried about outside seating, as It is on a main road which can make it a little noisy but I was not bothered when sitting outside on each occasion.

The food was fine however the delivery driver was extremely rude! I couldn’t hear what she was saying on the phone, so buzzed her into my block of flats when I knew she was there, when she arrived at my door instead of even saying hello, she had a go at me for making her leave her Parked car and not going downstairs to collect the food myself. I had just finished a night shift so wouldn’t have felt comfortable to go downstairs in my pjamas if I had been able to hear her - on the other had, the driver was fully dressed a working part of a shift, there’s a lift so it was very easy to come upstairs.

The way she spoke alone was enough to put me off buying from cafe 84 in a while. Being polite...
