Before BrewDog cemented itself into my life I was completely unaware of the "craft beer revolution" which was happening around the country. Ales and stouts were something old men drank in pubs with sticky carpets and bad decor and something I avoided at all costs. In stepped BrewDog. Opening at the end of 2012 and at the bottom of my apartment building on John Bright Street I couldn't help but take a gander at what it had to offer, and boy does it have a lot. There is something for everyone here. Even those that profess they do not like or drink beer can find something to enjoy, they also offer beer cocktails or wine if you can't handle a pint, 2/3 or 1/3. Yep, 2/3. Who knew? Though with beers ranging from 4% right up to 15% you can see why you might want a 1/3. You can also sample the beers before committing to a full measure. Just ask the staff, they are friendly and knowledgable about the beers on offer, even the guest drafts which come from all over the world! They even serve food too! You can grab their daily specials, I had a beef stew using their IPA Hardcore beer during their live brewing event or try something from the main menu such as their delicious burgers. They also host music nights Thursday and Sundays as well as infrequent tasting sessions, so be sure to keep your eye out for them. So what are you waiting for? Join the beer revolution. You won't look at an ale quite the same again.

First time eating here and had a good time. There’s a nice selection of burgers on the menu, though they ran out of the chicken ones that I wanted to try but it’s ok - I tried jackpot (beef patty with chorizo, black pudding, gorgonzola and some sweet glaze that I can’t quite remember) instead, which did not disappoint. Considering this is a beer place first and a food place second, the food was truly not bad. The burgers we had were lovely with interesting flavour combinations. I particularly liked the soft burgers buns. The fries were also perfectly crispy. Definitely a big shoutout to the chef! Staff were also friendly, helpful and the right level of attentive. Overall, an enjoyable Friday evening treat. Only two caveats. 1) Appreciate inflation and commerciality but I usually get a bit salty about places that gets you to pay for fries separately. However, these burgers were stuffed with good and interesting ingredients so it definitely took away the sting for me (mostly). 2) Maybe it’s just me being a wuss but the place felt pretty cold as the evening drawn on. I struggled to get warm but it could be due to the fact that most of my blood went to my tummy after a large meal.

Thanks for the detailed response , but I have to point out that your explanation doesn't line up with the reality. We visited on Friday, 15th August, which clearly falls within your advertised WingStock festival dates (11–17 August) — and your official website still states “unlimited wings, Monday – Friday for £15.95”. There was absolutely no mention online of Birmingham being excluded from the offer at the time we booked or attended. So being told in-person that it was never available at this location feels completely misleading. It honestly comes across as a bait-and-switch marketing tactic, especially now with the news that 10 BrewDog UK venues are potentially closing. It feels like a last-ditch sales push using false promises, and that’s incredibly disappointing from a brand we used to trust. If unlimited wings weren't available at BrewDog Birmingham, you shouldn't have promoted it as if they were. I hope BrewDog will take responsibility for this misleading advertising — instead of shifting blame onto the booking process or customers.

On reading the reviews me and my family were looking forward coming to BrewDog, Birmingham for my birthday meal. We followed the booking instructions for Wing Wednesday and made our way to BrewDog where we was seated. Was given a menu's (two of which that was already filled in) three of us ordered unlimited wings and three ordered burger & chips. Drinks I paid separately from the bar as we were undecisive of what to have.. I asked our server if there was a record for the number of Wings eaten in Birmingham BrewDog to where the server expressed they "didn't know" and there was "no challenge". I expressed on the website it stated there was a challenge and a leaderboard.. again to a blank expression.. I ordered the Wings in a Buffalo Sauce and the two children ordered Wings in a Korean Sauce. When they arrived they were presented very well with spring onion sprinkled over along with the topping (sauce). There were around 8x Wings on each plate. The three burger and chips meals looked good too.. After getting down to the final wings we asked if we could order some more where we was told we couldn't order until we had finished all wings (that we did..) by this time we waited around 10mins to get service and when ordering the second lot was told "we couldn't order another flavour, we had to have the same flavour.." when eventually ordered some more Wings it then took another 10mins for the Wings to come to our table.. on this occasion there was only 5x Wings on each plate and didn't look appetising (no spring onion) the chicken was hard like it was already cooked then double dipped too much batter and hard. I mentioned this to our server and it took another 10mins for another 5x Wings..

My pregnant daughter couldn't eat the Korean Wings as the taste of salt was too much and again the wings were very poor (overcooked, hard and the sauce was very salted).

We mentioned this and the choice was to have plain ones.. the wait was too much between ordering and if you went to have a challenge it would be impossible to order enough wings in your two hour stay.. we had a maximum of 3-4x plates each with roughly 18-21x Wings (having in mind the ones that were not eaten due to the standards of food).

Then to top it off we was given our bill of £90+

I do hope I have a reply from management to hopefully sort this very poor experience out..!

An update to follow...

I popped in on my way back from London to grab some of chicken wings, buffalo and blue cheese being the flavour of choice. There were 6-8 customers in the venue with 2 visible members of staff behind the bar. The staff mentioned were speaking with what looked like a friend/customer at the end of the bar whilst all tables in use had empty glasses, used takeaway packaging and empty trays and baskets from food. The end of the bar was piled high with empty glasses that were on show for ever to see how unbothered the staff were. The table I sat on to wait for my takeaway, which was empty and at the end of the bar so perhaps the most visible table for the staff was also filthy and covered in rubbish.

Moving onto the wings I ordered. I asked for the 30 special with extra blue cheese sauce, to which they went to check with the kitchen if it was possible, even though I attempted to order just after 20:00 and the advertised closing time for the kitchen is 21:00.

When I was handed my takeaway order, within the bags I saw two 1oz (28ml) pots of blue cheese sauce. So naturally I asked if there was more in the bag somewhere as I had asked for more than usual. 30 wings and two small pots of blue cheese sauce does not seem sufficient for even a careful blue cheese sauce consumer. I was told, ‘one is for the 30 wings and the other is extra, it is all we have.’

Now, I would not say it would be unreasonable to have been explained this when ordering the wings that there was somewhat of a shortage, as I would have ordered less and I would not be writing this review.

I am 23 years of age, I have never felt compelled to write a bad review but after being in the hospitality industry since the age of 16 I thought it necessary so the owner of the establishment is aware of the evident laziness and inhospitable staff who’s wages he is paying.

I am not saying that I would not come back because of one bad experience and if you are reading this, try it, maybe it was a bad day for the team at Brewdog Birmingham. If I walked back in and saw what I would decried as an inefficiently run Sunday evening shift like I did just, I would be crossing the road...

OMG Where do I start.... Booked a table for our sons 21st birthday as this is where he wanted to go. We arrived slightly early. No one greeted us so we asked about our booking. The young girl seemed a little oblivious so we sat down. No one came to our table to ask or inform us what to do so we booked our requirements via the app. After about 20 mins we were approached by the duty manager (Jack) and informed that there was no Mac and Cheese, so would we like to change for something else. Our daughter said no thank you and we will just have it refunded. We continued to wait a further 15 minutes and a still hadn't received our drinks. On this we called the bar person over and asked. She returned to the table to advise us that our complete order of food and drinks had been cancelled and refunded. Again the duty manager Jack was called to the table and informed us that we couldn't just cancel the Mac and Cheese as an individual item so he cancelled the whole order. I asked why he hadn't told us this instead of leaving us sitting there, he replied that he was too busy doing a beer tuition class for 12 people and that we should have checked our emails as we would have had confirmation of this. There was very few customers in the establishment and the staff appeared to be just moping around without any customer care or service at all. So overall, due to the fact that there was no Mac and Cheese and also no suitable alternative the Brewdog staff cancelled our £90.00 order without informing us. This left us very disappointed so we left and had a wonderful meal elsewhere. A special message to the main manager Yanna, please provide your staff with basic customer...
