My friends and I have planned a visit to a dessert place for a while now. Usually we go to Sundae Gelato on the top of the Corporation Street but we had decided to come to this place instead. This was for two reasons: ONE because it’s newly opened and TWO because it’s so much closer to our office. Usually we waste 15 min on walking up to Sundae Gelato and 15 min on walking back which means less time during a lunch break to enjoy the dessert. This place seemed like a perfect solution being only 5 min away. As soon as we arrived we were shown to our booth. I picked my dessert and went to the till to place an order. First impression was that the counter and the till are so high up, the girl on the other side looked like she needed a stool to actually see me. The set-up is not very interpersonal. I asked the girl whether I could have the £5.50 wafer basket but make a few flavour swaps for the same price and she said yes. So we spent 5 min swapping ice-cream flavours and toppings only for the girl to summarise and shout out £9.70 (???) I said she has just told me I can make swaps (I did not ask for anything additional) for the same price and she said YES! She then said no I actually can’t do that so I need to choose from already made offer in the menu for £5.50. Okey thank you for wasting my time! My friends were the next ones to place an order. One of my friends asked for an apple crumble, he was asked if he wanted it hot (???) errrrrm … yes! Apple crumble is usually served hot! Then he was asked whether he wanted his custard hot ….. yes!! Then it turned out that it was actually an apple pie they were selling not an apple crumble. We sat back down. My dessert arrived very quickly but my friends order was nowhere to be seen for the next 15 min. Bear in mind we only have 1 hour lunch break before we have to go back to the office. Suddenly an unexpected milkshake arrived from the waitress saying they apologise for the wait. Very nice gesture but there was 3 of us and milkshake was one!! Who does that? Are we supposed to drink from the same straw or are we supposed to argue who gets it whilst others watch?? Anyway 25 minutes later still no dessert and we had to make our way back. My friends asked for a refund and the guy at the till didn’t know how to proceed with the refund to his card so he gave him lots of cash instead! On top of that he said the reason why the desserts were late was because they took the table number down wrong: number 8 instead of 18! So there was this girl walking with cakes around the shop looking like a lost sheep. We had looked forward to this for so long and we are actually mad we changed our plans from going to Sundae Gelato to the Little Dessert Shop. Never again! We have now booked another lunch outing and this time we are definitely going to Sundae Gelato. Their sundae choices are so much better, service is fantastic and it’s worth every minute of that walk! If you want to enjoy stress free, professional service forget the Little...
Read moreStaff here are extremely rude and unprofessional with some not even being able to speak basic English. Lady at the till was rude and started arguing with me. I have dined here frequently the tables always seem to be a mess and me having to move plates and rubbish from previous customers because the staff aren’t cleaning up frequently.
You’d expect because you have to go up to the counter to order for someone to greet you and take your order immediately but no you’ll be waiting 5 minutes for the staff to take interest in serving you and even then they’re rudeness towards you is actually shocking considering the prices of the items on the menu. The desserts themselves were extremely disappointing. The cookie dough was tiny, undercooked, and served in a cracked pan. I actually fell ill because of the cookie dough. The ice cream for the cookie dough was served in a plastic takeaway container, despite us dining in it looked cheap and unpresentable. The pistachio cheesecake pop was disgusting - it was stale and honestly one of the worst desserts I’ve ever had. It tasted bland, had a strange “fridge” taste, and arrived damaged as if it had been poorly stored or handled.
I asked another staff member waiting the tables if she could kindly bring me some ice for my water. Instead of assisting, she rudely told me to “go get it yourself” and pointed to the counter. Her attitude was completely unprofessional. She wasn’t even engaged in other tasks like clearing tables, which were still left dirty from previous customers. It was clear she had no interest in customer service
As a well-established brand known for its indulgent desserts and inviting atmosphere, I expected a much higher standard of service, hygiene, and product quality — all of which were severely lacking during my experience.
When you contact the customer service they just ignore your email - it just shows how much the company cares about money over their reputation and customer service. They hire incompetent staff members who clearly have no customer service or dessert making experience and do not care about your experience within the store.

From the time we entered most of the tables had dirty plates from previous customers. We walked over to the till and grabbed a menu and sat on a table with spilled ice cream on but it was the best out of the bunch.
Straight after paying I asked if I could swap a flavoured ice cream scoop to another flavour to which I was told I had to pay extra £2.50 for another scoop but not get the extra scoop that I’m paying for but just swap the scoop.
Please bare in mind a scoop alone costs 2.25 to begin with I was told all of this was because of a rule they had.
I orderd one 50/50 waffle. A raspberry and white chocolate and the order side a kinder hippo and kinder sauce. The first half came with strawberries instead of raspberries and when I asked the lady who brought it over why it was like this she said the lady at the till should have told me. The second half came with the hippo and after the first bite you could tell it was stale and been sat out of the pack for quiet sometime.
I also orderd a white hot chocolate which is just common sense will come out milky and white but instead I was given a normal hot chocolate which was boiling hot, after trying it to confirm it wasn’t a white hot chocolate and burning my tounge I asked the same lady at the till for some tap water to which I was told that’s not possible and that I had to pay for bottled water.
Funny enough someone sat next to us had a cup of tap water and when I pointed that out to the lady she said that that person was homeless and I wasn’t allowed one.
Absolutely disgusting and I’m very disappointed with this experience as I wasn’t expecting for such small requests to...
