Myself and two friends visited the Disney cafe yesterday. I visited the cafe back in 2019, and my two other friends this was their first time. They were looking really forward to it. When we approached the cafe, we identified a sign saying ‘Please wait to be seated’ so we waited. Staff walked past and ignored us, so we decided to just walk in, and we went up to the counter. Inside, the cafe was extremely quiet, there were lots of tables and lots of staff walking around not doing very much. We ordered three drinks. My first friends’ drink was made and given to her straight away. Later, she said it was alright. Meanwhile, my second friend then ordered a drink. The member of staff said he would bring it over to the table. She had asked for coconut milk in her drink. I then ordered a strawberry milkshake. The member of staff said he would bring it over to the table. After 5 minutes, my friend received her drink. When he brought the drink to the table, he said “coconut milk, right?”, and she confirmed. When she tasted and drank it, she couldn’t taste the coconut milk. Me and my other friend smelt the drink, and it just smelt like a typical coffee, no hint of coconut milk at all. My first friend had finished her drink. We then waited … and waited … and waited for my strawberry milkshake to arrive. (How long does it take to make a milkshake when there is a jug already?) During this time, we saw 8 members of staff in total in the cafe. One girl looked fairly busy. The other 7 looked the opposite. 4 of them were stood behind the counter, doing nothing. They were laughing, bending backwards, putting hands on their backs to stretch their backs, one girl was putting her hair up into a bun, and one petite girl with brown hair behind the counter was biting her nails. We continued to observe them, and all the staff looked very tired, miserable, bored and unhappy. They looked like they didn’t want to be at work. The girl who had been fixing her hair into a bun, went to Table 1 to give them a milkshake. It wasn’t their milkshake. She looked back at her colleague behind the counter, and he said Table 2 (our table). She approached our table, and put the milkshake on the table. She asked “did you order a chocolate milkshake?”. I responded “No, strawberry”. She then huffed ever so loudly and rudely, stared back at her colleague behind the counter and as she walked towards the counter (we could hear everything because it was so quiet and we were close to the counter) she said “Eugh he said he ordered a strawberry milkshake”. They then spent a further 5 minutes making my strawberry milkshake. After 25 minutes from when I first ordered my strawberry milkshake, it finally came. The member of staff apologised with a simple sorry, whilst smiling, so it didn’t feel very genuine and authentic. We also saw more people waiting at the ‘wait to be seated sign’ and looking confused. With the amount of staff they had doing absolutely nothing and walking around to get their steps in for the day, they should really acknowledge and do their job properly. To work in hospitality, you have to be hospitable. Overall, our experience was terrible. We were so glad we didn’t order food because goodness knows how long the service would have taken. It was ridiculous. The most upsetting thing was staff looking so p*ed off, and bored, it made us feel very uncomfortable, so we quickly downed our drinks once my strawberry milkshake arrived. Very hostile environment to enjoy a drink. The staff really need to improve their customer service and spirit whilst working in hospitality. Crikey, good luck to them if they were working behind a busy counter at Starbucks or Costa! Slow service, extremely rude and tired staff, drinks overpriced and average. Shall not be returning anytime soon and wouldn’t recommend. The food didn’t look great either. Safest option, go to the Greggs on the floors below, looked very nice and busy. Me and my friend went to eat there afterwards, and staff behind the counter were friendly, helpful and positive. The Greggs also looked a lot...
Read moreAfter a long anticipated wait I finally was able to visit this cafe, although a full grown adult I'd been very excited to visit as I love all things Disney. Myself and my daughter arrived on a Sunday, there was a small queue and took a little while to move along to say how many tables were still available. We were seated on an awkward end table, I did ask if there was any booths available with the touch screen table but sadly there wasn't. Now I'm aware that this place is aimed towards children, but I felt even a child would be disappointed. For saying that this place hasn't been open all that long, it already felt rather grubby and rundown. The table and stools were bolted to the floor, which made for an uncomfortable experience and that's just to start. We weren't given physical menus, just a QR code to scan and download the menu, we weren't even able to view them online. People regularly checked if we were ready to order, asked if we wanted drinks, was offered sprinkles on the milkshake and said yes, but did not receive sprinkles. At the time didn't think it was a big deal, although our drinks came in paper takeout cups despite us sitting in. We inquired about the "treats" menu as it wasn't on the downloaded menu, only to find out it was one thing available on that day, so decided to go with the only themed food which was the pancakes from the kids menu. We knew this wouldn't be a big thing as it was on the children's menu but it was extremely disappointing. The pancakes were meant to be shaped as mickey heads, but one arrived missing an ear. I immediately pointed this out and they did bring another one out, although it didn't look much better. The pudding in general looked very sad, with 3 pieces of banana, a small amount of whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Despite this we dug in, to them being cold, rubbery, unpleasant and dry. On top of this, the drinks were not up to par as well, the milkshake tasted unmixed and wasn't very thick, and I've had better coffee in service stations. When a worker returned to us to ask how everything was, I was quite honest and said how unhappy I was with it, and we did receive a 20% discount off the meal which was pretty much the silver lining of the experience. To say, sadly, I would not recommend this place to children or...
Read moreA perfect service from a perfect place, I will list the experience that I had in full.
We waited for 10 to 20 minutes to get a table because they were very busy and had to fully wipe down tables along with sweep the floor which tbh I’ve never seen a place ENSURE a table is perfectly clean seats, floor and table. When getting in they directed us to our table and sat us down which they explained that because of covid it was table service which is something I prefer, we used the barcode and looked at the menus online which was good and there wasn’t much however for a cafè I did not expect to see burgers and a buttermilk chicken burger, we decided to order:
1 Burger 1 Buttermilk Chicken Burger 2 Hot Chocolate W Cream and Marshmallows
It took a little time for someone to come and take our order but they was completely packed, the staff were friendly and mostly cheerful, when ordered we got out hot chocolates within 5 minutes and tasted DEVINE, they were the best hot chocolates I’ve tasted in my life time. Fast forward 15 minutes we had drank our hot chocolates and still waiting for the burgers now because this is a cafè I expected the burgers to be around 40 minutes however after the 15 minutes the manager comes over and asks us if we was waiting for something which we explained the burgers however we showed no problems and we displayed that we were okay to wait. He then went to go check on the orders which he came back 3 minutes later and explained the system had messed up and deleted our order and expressed he was very sorry and told us it was 50% OFF!! This kinda blew me away because it hadn’t been long and we didn’t even complain. Fast forward 5 minutes both burgers come out with fantastic presentation and was the BEST BURGERS EVER!!!!! I am a burger fanatic and have tasted over 150 different types of burgers and nothing came close to the quality of these burgers but not only that he then said it’s completely FREE and just needed to pay for drinks so a meal that would have cost £22 then came to £7.
I had a amazing experience and the staff just made it the best I will be visiting...
