RUGA BISTRO — Restaurant in Birmingham

Visited twice in the past month with different people, and both times all diners have been in agreement that the service was extremely poor.

Both times no one checked on how our food was, asked if we wanted any more drinks, cleared our plates when we had finished eating, offered us desserts, ask if we wanted the bill…. Basic hospitality.

As soon as our food was served we were ignored which is really surprising considering many reviews mention the friendly service.

Whenever we needed something we had to get up and walk over to the till area to get the attention of the waitress who was usually on her phone.

There is also a charge for takeaway boxes that isn’t mentioned but is added on the receipt. If this is for environmental purposes they could simply not use plastic containers like many other restaurants in Birmingham.

The food felt a little hit and miss for the price, but great to see...

I went here with some friends a while ago and only remembered how good the meal was after driving past the restaurant yesterday! We ordered lots of dishes as we were all starving and the prices were quite low!! The food came in a good amount time, I ordered one of the platters (sorry I can't remember the name)and it was DELICIOUS!!!!! It's literally the best Chinese food I've had in a long time!!! My friends also loved their meals and one of them was vegetarian and absolutely loved the vegetarian menu!! The whole atmosphere of the restaurant is great! It has a really calming modern feel to it! The tables chairs and more were all clean, including the toilets ,the lighting is amazing and I love the studio ghibli piano music that is played in the background! I would 100% recommend this restaurant especially for vegetarians! I definitely will come back and bring...

Disappointing experience - nice food once it arrived, but we ordered, waited for almost 2 hours, at which point someone came over to say that they had lost our order despite being reassured that our food was just coming in a moment throughout that time. Each member of staff all tried to blame each other - one tried to blame the other waitress, then that waitress blamed the kitchen and it all seemed like a mess. They then offered us some free drinks, but didn't ask us what we wanted to drink and when challenged, we were informed we would have to pay if we wanted a different drink. They then charged us for the most expensive of the drinks. Very disappointed overall with the visit - apparently it was really busy, but there were empty tables, everyone else's food was coming out rapidly and they had time to mop the floors whilst...
