After a quick google search of the best coffee shops in Bristol this came highly recommended and after going it’s clear why. The main reason I wanted to write a review is not due to the coffee (although amazing) but the owner/staff. In a lot of independent coffee shops the owners/ staff can feel a bit standoffish and almost gatekeeping coffee, however here it is the complete opposite. The staff were extremely friendly and were more than happy to give recommendations on different coffees and went as far as to let us sample some. I went with the intention to buy a coffee for the road and hopefully some ground coffee to take home and I was not disappointed. The passion for coffee really shines through and the customer service was second to none. The coffee we bought and tried is amazing. I would highly recommend the house blend as it is a perfect dark roast (or was at the time of writing). My partner had a single espresso of the house blend which was the perfect pick me up. We also sampled and bought a Round Hill Roastery La Claudina #2 which is incredible and I’m sure will become a favourite of ours. I can not recommend this place enough. If only we lived closer I would happily...

Regular for three years. Very down to earth - not another modern, flash chain interior serving mediocre coffee. Great tasting coffee is what kept me going back - quite distinctive flavour. Their cortado is the perfect kick start to your morning. Just make sure George makes it - he has an eye for detail and perfect balance of milk and coffee. Sometimes the others are not quite on the ball :) They do get very busy during the morning rush but generally keep the queue down with light hearted banter thrown in. It's no wonder there are so many regulars from all walks of life. Even saw regular dogs! Try: cortado (best in the city) and excellent bacon sandwich (also best in city) Enjoy: cozy atmosphere and frequently changing art by local artists Will miss my regular visits now my son no longer goes to the nursery next door but will be back when in this area. Thanks George (local legend) and his band of merry...

One of Bristol well known secrets!

My first time today, and it definitely won't be my last.

Fantastic strong flat white, but NOT bitter.

.... Update I come on Monday to get bacon butty ... Nope that's Friday and Saturday only.

Ok, I'll return Saturday

Saturday, get off my bus to town, come in, ... A latte and bacon please ..

NOPE ... Time limit

WHAT THE ACTUAL F ...

SERIOUSLY, YIU COULDNT HAVE TOLD ME ON KONDAY THAY THERES A CUT OFF TIME

NOT COMING BACK, NEVER WORRH IT FOR MY MIND, AND DESIRE FOR A BACON BUTTY

Flapjack is amazing. A real bite to it. None of this industrial sponge like flapjack, this is like your nan used to make.

It's not cheap here, but it's not really expensive either. I can't honestly say good value, but it is a fair price.

As I said above, I will definitely be back ... A bacon sandwich went past me, and it looks worthy of...

I’ve been reviewing coffee shops in the Bristol Centre, every Saturday morning. I can see the appeal of this place. The owner speaks to pretty much everyone, he’s attentive and if you could bottle his personality, he’ll be loaded. I’m here to review the coffee, and whilst the staff were attentive and took their time with my mocha, I’ve had a lot better in Bristol (3.2/5) The milk froth was too thin, the chocolate dominated the flavour and didn’t like how they didn’t clean the milk jug for each order with dried milk outside the jug too. Small things like the smell of bacon oil through the shop, and no WiFi should’ve resulted in a lower score but the owner / service was quality.

We were staying in a nearby hotel and badly in need of a decent coffee on Saturday morning. A few minutes walk away we found Baristas. It had little tables outside, was set back from the main road, and had a good reputation. Two flat whites later, we had to agree. Very good coffee, at a perfect temperature (no volcanically hot milk here), and a warm welcome. Only wish we had been ready for breakfast - will definitely be trying the bacon sarnies next time we're in town. Totally applaud their decision not to open on a Sunday, but won't pretend not to be a little bit disappointed!
