Myself, partner (a person of colour) and 2 friends walked in and I was immediately spoken to by another customer who said ‘welcome to England’ which I thought was weird but didn’t think much of it. Went to sit and wait whilst my boyfriend and friend got drinks. Whilst we waited the same man who spoke to us earlier came back to sit at his table and said the same thing again ‘welcome to England’ nothing else. It was weird. Several people in the pub stared at us and the environment felt tense. Meanwhile the bartender was intentionally un courteous to my friend and partner, It was very clear he didn’t want us there. All in all we did not feel welcome, nor by the other clientele or the employees and the vibe was very weird, so much so that we decided to get up and leave...

Unbelievable. We spent most the night there. Leaving do. Sat at the bar at the end. 10 mins before 11 asked for a final drink and was refused on the grounds that the barman just didn't want to. Admitted he should have called last orders and time but didn't do either. Laughed at us when he knew he was in the wrong. He said we should could get a drink somewhere else! I'd you don't want to serve beer from behind a bar don't work in a pub!! I will take his advice and drink elsewhere until he no longer works there. I'm not drinking good chemistry...

Good atmosphere and nice staff. Two sections, front seating area was fully occupied. It the back section is very nice and private with additional seating. All tables had reserved signs on but luckily it says a time which wasn't until much later which worked well for me.

Not seen any reviews on the food! If you eat here please leave a review...

Edited: I ended up eating here after witnessing someone else doing the same. Fish and chips - very decent. Choc brownie and ice cream for pudding again very decent. Would definitely...

A fantastic piece of Bristol history, that has been preserved by the Good Chemistry brewery. Great interior space with tons of character (including the famed 'tramcar saloon') and a wide selection of drinks make this a must-visit if you are nearby. The array of cheese rolls and pickled eggs also looked rather delicious, but as I didn't try them, I cannot comment on their actual quality.

Imagine you’re strolling down Victoria Street in Bristol and you see the celebration cake centre you pop in have a browse and you treat yourself to a slice, then you build up a thirst for a cold pint to wash it down. Well look no further than 2 yards away as you have the Kings Head next door, which is a delightful boozer; actually it’s encroaching into the top draw arena!!

Fine unspoiled/ unmodernized pub in central Bristol, next to Temple Gardens not far from the main Temple Meads station. The "tramcar bar" a quaint and unusual feature. Good beer from the Good Chemistry on-site brewery, and a range of guest beers both cask and keg.
