If you’re searching for a culinary adventure that tantalises your taste buds, look no further than Guru j’s. This vibrant eatery, tucked away in the heart of Cheltenham offers a delightful menu that perfectly blends comfort food with bold flavours. On my recent visit, I had the pleasure of indulging in their Cheese Bites, a Bombay Burger, Loaded Fries, and Samosas. Each dish left a lasting impression, making this dining experience truly memorable.
Cheese Bites To kick off my meal, I ordered the Cheese Bites, and they arrived piping hot and perfectly golden. Each bite-sized morsel was a crunchy delight, encasing a gooey, melted cheese centre that simply oozed flavour. The exterior was seasoned just right, adding a delightful crunch that complemented the rich, creamy cheese inside. Paired with a tangy dipping sauce, these bites were utterly addictive—so good that I contemplated ordering a second round before I even finished the first!
Burger Next up was the star of the show: the Bombay Burger. The moment it was placed before me, I was captivated by its presentation. Stacked high with a perfectly grilled patty turkey bacon,, melted cheddar cheese, crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and a dollop of house-made sauce, this burger was a sight to behold. One bite in, and I was in burger heaven—the patty was juicy and flavourful, cooked to a perfect medium. The toppings were fresh and vibrant, adding a satisfying crunch and brightness. Each element harmonised beautifully, creating a well-rounded and hearty meal that left me craving more.
Loaded Fries As if the burger wasn’t enough, I also ordered the Loaded Fries, which turned out to be a glorious indulgence. A generous portion of crispy fries acted as the base, generously topped with seasoned crushed onion bhaji, chicken skin, melted cheese, and a medley of toppings including green chilli, spring onions. The fries were perfectly cooked—golden crispy on the outside while remaining fluffy on the inside. The combination of savoury, spicy, and creamy flavour’s made every mouthful a delicious thrill. It was comfort food elevated to new heights!
Samosas To round off my feast, I couldn’t resist trying the Samosas. These golden pastries were expertly fried, with a crispy shell that encased a flavourful filling of spiced potatoes and peas. Each bite was a delightful explosion of warmth and spice, paired with a cooling mint chutney that perfectly balanced the flavours. The Samosas were a testament to the kitchen’s ability to craft authentic dishes that resonate with comfort and nostalgia.
Conclusion In conclusion, my experience at Guru J’s] was nothing short of exceptional. The Cheese Bites, Burger, Loaded Fries, and Samosas each showcased a dedication to quality and flavour that is hard to find. The inviting atmosphere and attentive service only added to the overall enjoyment of the meal. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by Guru J’s for a feast that will leave you smiling and satisfied. I can’t wait to return and explore more of their delicious offerings! Highly...
Read moreWe’ve ordered from here a number of times and my husband usually picks up instead of delivery. Super convenient location and there is usually parking available right in front. We decided to eat here before a movie and used the website to order ahead - great option if you need to be in and out by a certain time. The employees are super nice and our order was ready bang on 18:45 as requested. Chips were fresh and hadn’t been sat there as other places might have done. What prompted me to write a review is finding my new fav here! The cheeky chicken is my tried and true BUT with ordering on the website I saw you can add an onion bhaji and OMG is it a game changer! The flavour is already delicious but an onion bhaji on top of marinated chicken and the mango chutney it comes with just takes it to another level. We also love the Guru J’s ketchup which is delicious on everything. Hubby likes the burgers and has tried almost all of them, never being disappointed. The flavour combinations are different and interesting. Crispy chicken skin on fries? Yes, please. Great value for money, dinner for two was £20 (we always share fries because I can never finish a whole portion myself) and no delivery or service fee from Deliveroo or Just Eat....
