Lemongrass - Chichester — Restaurant in Chichester

Takeaway is unjustifiably expensive and inconsistent. I enjoy eating in this restaurant but again it's very expensive.

The food is good but nothing incredible, you can get better value elsewhere in Chichester for Asian food. I also find this restaurant lacks atmosphere in comparison to Rustington.

I'm dropping a star since prices have risen sharply to the point where you're looking at £60 for a takeaway for two, unfortunately that's a bit too steep and I'm not finding the food matches that price.

I think a bigger discount for takeaway would be fairer. Unsure I'll order again for the foreseeable.

2024 update:

I've just tried takeaway again after 6 months to see if quality has improved since the prices went up and actually some of the dishes I had the quality had decreased... Vegetable side now almost entirely cabbage...

My point remains that this restaurant is very overpriced at nearly £30 a head on takeaway the quality of some of the dishes needs to be improved to match the price increase. I won't be returning for a while to see if...

Been here quite a few times. Somehow it lost its way a few years ago so stopped going. Went back on my own and it was pretty good again so took my gf a week later...

We asked for a lamb dish on the menu and they said they dont have the lamb. Fair enough, got beef instead. When served they forgot that beef dish and I had to call the waiter back. Kinda unbelievable he didnt realise as there was only 1 other table, but ok. Came out a few minutes later and the meat was so dry. Boiled tf i guess, or just plain bad prep. Not sure which is worse.

So, time to pay and the waiter is literally hovering over me. I was actually just gonna pay the service charge and not come back but the hovering bothered me so much I said (politely) I wasnt going to pay the service charge cos of the mistake. His face dropped.

On the way out I said "bye" and was completely ignored by him and the barman. We spent almost £100 for lunch. I'm surprised that they didnt offer any discount at all, let alone be so...

This place is just wonderful! Not only were the staff friendly and attentive, but the restaurant was gorgeous, and the food was amazing!

I had the thai green curry, which was probably the best I have ever had. The curry broth was so flavourful and really not too spicy. I chose prawn as my protein and got 9 perfectly cooked prawns. The veggies in the broth were cooked to perfection, especially the courgettes. I chose the sticky rice, which went so well with the dish.

For starters, I chose the puffed tofu (tofu tord) - this was excellent; super crispy and flavourful with a gorgeous sauce. For dessert, I had the Thai pancake (Phuket Delight), which tasted insanely delicious. It was sweet and salty and fantastically sticky. It came with ice cream, which i didn't realise until afterwards as I ordered a scoop of pistachio ice cream on the side. The pistachio ice cream was fantastic.
