Autumn in Edinburgh... Edinburgh is the perfect place to visit in the autumn. It is a little colder and you'll likely encounter some rain (it is Scotland, after all), but there are less crowds and the city is equally as magical. Here are some things to do in Edinburgh in autumn: 🍂 Wander Old Town: The Royal Mile, get lost on the historic streets and narrow alleyways. View Edinburgh Castle from all angles around town. Don't miss the underground tour at The Real Mary King's Close. 🍂 Beautiful outdoors: Dean Village, Circus Lane, the Royal Botanical Gardens, Princes Street Gardens, Arthur's Seat, Calton Hill, Jupiter Artland 🍂 Nighttime fun: Ballie Ballerson, Fayre Play, potion making at The Cauldron, cocktails at The Alchemist 🍂 Vegan eats: Soul Vegan, Black Rabbit, Curran Geal, NovaPizza, Rabbit Food at Meadows Tap, Sora Lella, Green Bite Cafe, Antijitos, Holy Cow, Considerit (donuts!) 🍂 Coffee shops: The Milkman, Chapter One Coffee, Cairngorms Coffee, Cowan and Sons, Waterstones Cafe, The Wall, Hideout, Argyle Place, Fortitude, Wellington Coffee 🍂 Free galleries and museums: The Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Scottish National Gallery, National Museum of Scotland, Museum of Edinburgh #Scotland #Edinburgh #royalmile #visitscotland #unlimitedbritain #citykillerz #beautifulscotland #scotlandforever #rainydays #edinburghcastle #Scottish #autumn #outlander #hiddenscotland #discoverscotland #ukdestinations #edinburghtravel #medievaltown #postcardplaces #scottishscenery #prettylittletrips #deanvillage #edinburghsnapshots #edinburghhighlights #visitedinburgh #lovescotland

Considerit was absolutely great. We visited whilst in Edinburgh on a short trip and was certainly not disappointed by the food on offer. Everything is vegan and there’s a huge selection of doughnuts and ice creams available. I had the hazelnut doughnut with biscoff ice cream and it was really good. The coffee itself wasn’t the best if I’m being honest, but that’s not the reason you visit Considerit. The food was great, the entire shop was nice and clean and the staff were 10/10. Toilets were also very nice and clean. Also, the menu was really straight forward. There was a nice guy who worked there who was very keen to recommend us some other places to visit whilst in Edinburgh which was really helpful and friendly too. Thank you to the guy. If you’re in Edinburgh, you absolutely cannot miss going to Considerit. When back in Edinburgh, we will certainly come back.

My partner is a vegetarian so we made our way over to Considerit for some ice cream for a hot day.☀️ 2.50£ for a scoop is not a terrible price, however for the low quality service and final product it felt a lot less of a bargain. The ice cream had a good consistency, but had an overwhelming taste of coconut to it😬. Not an issue if that's what you're into, but it took away from the flavors they were advertised as (cookies and cream + biscoff). While slow service isn't a dealbreaker, for three people in the shop the staff moved incredibly slowly and at times got distracted. As my partner and I have both worked in the service industry, we understand the obstacles that can lead to issues such as these and are thus fairly forgiving. However, this service seemed to be from a lack of experience and attention from all workers involved.

Not very "Considerit" to potential or regular customers!

Saturday past my partner and I were going homeware shopping. She specifically took us off the most direct route to go to Considerit for a coffee, which she visits regularly with an elderly friend who lives in the area.

We checked their opening hours online, 17:00.

On our way across the Meadows, the heavens opened. Luckily we had umbrellas with us.

On arrival at 16:40, we shook out our brollies outside and then entered and asked about 2 coffees. There was a table of 3 women enjoying a chat and a hot drink inside, as well as a dude slumped in the window chair listening to music and not drinking anything.

One server half-acknowledged our order but then the other server said "oh we're only doing takeaway now". "Takeaway only?" "Yes. Because we're closing soon." Reminder, it was 16:40.

We looked outside to the grey, sodden, and miserable street. We looked at the table of 3 women enjoying a chat and a hot drink inside.

"You could try the Summerhall cafe? They are probably still open." (Zero warmth. Zero interest.)

So we did. We went in to MF Coffee Shop (who were also closing at 17:00 by the way), got served two excellent coffees and a bread and butter pudding by a friendly young fella, drank the coffees, and left inside 15 minutes at 16:54.

Across the street, 3 "happy" Considerit customers were huddled under a single brolly in the rain.

If that's the staff's attitude to the business and their customers, including regulars like my partner (who was actually hurt, and will now officially Not Be Going Back There), then...

Considerit is a vegan chocolate and doughnut shop located in Edinburgh, Scotland. The shop offers a range of artisanal chocolates, doughnuts, and other sweet treats, all of which are made using vegan and organic ingredients.

Considerit's chocolate selection includes a variety of flavors, such as hazelnut praline, salted caramel, and orange blossom, all of which are handcrafted in small batches. The shop also offers a selection of chocolate truffles, chocolate bars, and chocolate-covered nuts and fruits.

In addition to its chocolate offerings, Considerit also serves a range of vegan doughnuts, which come in a variety of flavors and are made fresh daily. Some of the most popular flavors include raspberry jam, peanut butter and jelly, and cookies and cream. The shop also has a selection of vegan ice cream and milkshakes, which are made with coconut milk and other plant-based ingredients.

Considerit's interior is bright and modern, with a minimalist design that emphasizes the importance of using sustainable and ethical ingredients. The shop also has a friendly and knowledgeable staff, who can assist customers in selecting the right products and provide information on the ingredients and sourcing.

After waiting for about an hour in the morning for donuts, I made some observations on the sales and became increasingly annoyed as I watched how it took sometimes took over 10 minutes to serve a single customer at a time. I wish someone had come out to inform us if there was something wrong, or if there were delays to production as it didn’t make sense why it took so long. After about 45 min in the cue, the guy out front had been replaced with a girl and things moved a lot quicker as they were able to send customers to the side door for their drinks and serve other waiting customers in the mean time. Please implement this method every day, as I can see from my flat the queue is equally as long every day. 1/5 organisation.

Customer service was otherwise impeccable and I’d rate it a 5/5. People there are beyond lovely.

I wish I could rate the donuts equally as good, but they’re sadly 1/5 for me. They are beyond bland and overly sweet. We ordered two different donuts and they tasted virtually the same; just pure sugar. I’ve lived in Edinburgh for 3 years now and it’s just gotten worse and worse over time. My favourite, the biscoff donut doesn’t taste anything like it used to anymore! It’s just sugar and an overly bready donut dough. It’s not worth the price point and hype...
