Not very "Considerit" to potential or regular customers!
Saturday past my partner and I were going homeware shopping. She specifically took us off the most direct route to go to Considerit for a coffee, which she visits regularly with an elderly friend who lives in the area.
We checked their opening hours online, 17:00.
On our way across the Meadows, the heavens opened. Luckily we had umbrellas with us.
On arrival at 16:40, we shook out our brollies outside and then entered and asked about 2 coffees. There was a table of 3 women enjoying a chat and a hot drink inside, as well as a dude slumped in the window chair listening to music and not drinking anything.
One server half-acknowledged our order but then the other server said "oh we're only doing takeaway now". "Takeaway only?" "Yes. Because we're closing soon." Reminder, it was 16:40.
We looked outside to the grey, sodden, and miserable street. We looked at the table of 3 women enjoying a chat and a hot drink inside.
"You could try the Summerhall cafe? They are probably still open." (Zero warmth. Zero interest.)
So we did. We went in to MF Coffee Shop (who were also closing at 17:00 by the way), got served two excellent coffees and a bread and butter pudding by a friendly young fella, drank the coffees, and left inside 15 minutes at 16:54.
Across the street, 3 "happy" Considerit customers were huddled under a single brolly in the rain.
If that's the staff's attitude to the business and their customers, including regulars like my partner (who was actually hurt, and will now officially Not Be Going Back There), then...

Read moreAfter waiting for about an hour in the morning for donuts, I made some observations on the sales and became increasingly annoyed as I watched how it took sometimes took over 10 minutes to serve a single customer at a time. I wish someone had come out to inform us if there was something wrong, or if there were delays to production as it didnât make sense why it took so long. After about 45 min in the cue, the guy out front had been replaced with a girl and things moved a lot quicker as they were able to send customers to the side door for their drinks and serve other waiting customers in the mean time. Please implement this method every day, as I can see from my flat the queue is equally as long every day. 1/5 organisation.
Customer service was otherwise impeccable and Iâd rate it a 5/5. People there are beyond lovely.
I wish I could rate the donuts equally as good, but theyâre sadly 1/5 for me. They are beyond bland and overly sweet. We ordered two different donuts and they tasted virtually the same; just pure sugar. Iâve lived in Edinburgh for 3 years now and itâs just gotten worse and worse over time. My favourite, the biscoff donut doesnât taste anything like it used to anymore! Itâs just sugar and an overly bready donut dough. Itâs not worth the price point and hype...
