Aardvark — Restaurant in Coventry

Went into my local to watch the darts final tonight. Was informed that last orders were to be taken at 9:30 and that everyone would need to be out at 10pm. It got to 10pm and TVs were being turned off before the match was over. Luckily the match ended a minute later but I along with other punters could not believe what was happening. Was informed that this will be the set up for the whole of January apart from Friday and Saturday which will close at midnight. I walked out hearing other punters stating that they won't be coming back and if there is a evening sporting event you wish to watch then I know I will be choosing somewhere else until February comes around. Don't understand the decision to do this myself as I can see punters going to other pubs and possibly not coming back. Just glad the darts ended when it did as no one would have been happy being told to leave before the conclusion if it had gone to...

Wow - was very pleasantly surprised by the look/feel/ethos of the refurbished Aardvark! A huge improvement was the well-kept bank of real ales on draught - especially one of my favourites, Jaipur. Well done to whoever is looking after the cellar - the range and quality were fantastic. Previously, there used to be only a couple of choices : one would have the clip rotated and the other would be distinctly vinegary. The musical output was also brilliant - both in terms of selection and volume.

It has been over a year since I was last in the Aardvark and I did not know that it had been refurbished so I was not looking forward to meeting work colleagues there -that has all changed. I shall definitely be back - hopefully sitting out in the lovely Beer...

1st time going to this pub. Went out with a few mates from work and this was mentioned. Apparently it had good food, decent seating and a few Tvs to watch the sports. Well that is correct. Food was good, ordered the Quadruple burger, with Nduja pork and jalapeño and it was amazing, 1 of the best Burgers I've had from a pub. The burger was moist and juicy, the bun was toasted and not burnt. (Bonus) The side of chips were cooked great 👍, also ordered wings, Reggae Reggae Jerk wings and also classic Bbq, not too bad. The place could do with a touch up here and there. But it's a student bar so meh being picky lol Pool tables could do with a clean and maybe the cloth being replaced. All in all...
