Emmy's Pitta — Restaurant in Coventry

I've taken food as take-out and as delivery order while studying in the area and I have to say that the food is below average for someone that knows how exactly original greek food tastes like. The meat and other ingredients are nowhere near the quality that you find in a greek store and their delivery service is tragic, there's no tracking option and exceeds the delivery period that says on uber eats due to the fact that it's a person from the store that delivers and not a delivery person from the company probably because they don't want to pay an extra salary (Typical behaviour for a greek store, just like the ones on the islands during the seasonal summer period) 🤣 The icing on the cake however was the fact that last time I went I saw the guy touching everything with his bare hands (god knows what he had touched before), it might be a thing for brits not to wear gloves or use utensils in the kitchen but as a greek employer this is simply unacceptable taking into consideration how many pathogens are transmitted from HANDS alone. I was so disgusted that I threw most of the food away and never stepping...

It was the second time I visited this restaurant and noticed substantial improvements. Food was better quality. Crispy, tasty, not as salty as the first time. Trying to maintain a balance of ingredients in the pitta is very important. No need to stuff it with tzatziki. It is supposed to give a flavour only. Meat was good. No Greek beers! Service was better, although it took nearly half an hour to prepare two pitta kebabs! Why? The young lady who took our order was polite. Attention has to be drawn to the atmosphere to make it more relaxed, welcoming, enjoyable. This depends on the way you manage the restaurant. Eg, the continuous open-close of the door and the draft caused does not help. I will go back again. If they continue improving themselves they will soon be in my favourites list. Best...

After searching the area for quick, cheap, but delicious, eats the reviews of Emmys didn’t lie. Excellent food, made quick and big portions, what’s not to love??

We ordered the mixed Skepasti and the Chicken pitta gyro with a side of chips for takeaway.

The Skepasti was delicious and great value for money. Very delicious and filling! The chips are also great - with a mixed herb seasoning. Food cooked fast and tbh a side of chips wasn’t needed but they were great, so hey ho!

The chicken pitta gyro is also a great portion size and little cheaper than than the Skepasti. Juicy and flavoursome - would also get this again!! Tbh I want to eat the whole menu after eating here.
