The coffee and toast were good, the place feels very cozy, and the prices are decent. However, I had a negative experience with the service, which makes me unlikely to return. At the table next to mine, there were two Asian women working on their laptops while consuming food and drinks. Three people arrived, but there was no table for three, only for two. The waitress approached the women and asked if they were going to stay longer because they had been there for three?? hours, mentioning that others wanted to sit. The waitress looked at them in a very unpleasant way, and the three new customers left. The waitress then blamed the women for losing customers. I don’t know if the waitress acted this way because the women were Asian or if it was just a coincidence, but regardless, it was not the right way to treat them. It’s also common sense that if people stay longer in a cafĂ©, they are likely to consume more and return in the future, unlike three random customers who might never come back. This experience left a very bad impression on me.

A cute little spot for coffee and a light bite. The cafe uses Monmouth which has a very rich and premium taste, both the drinks and the food are more than reasonably priced and the blueberry loaf was light, bouncy and not too sweet - it was jam packed with blueberries! The service was great and the guy who served us behind the counter was very kind and brought our drinks and food to us promptly. The interior was welcoming and the atmosphere was quiet so it is also a good spot to do some reading or studying or just to catch up with friends. Would definitely go back!

There are lots of coffee shops in Leicester and some are pretty good. Then there's Bread and Honey, without doubt Leicester's very best. The coffee here is next level compared to anywhere else in the city. The Monmouth beans they use are stunning and each coffee is made perfectly. They also sell a good selection of coffee beans too. They bake a lot of their cakes and make fresh sandwiches every day. The sausage and bacon sandwiches are fantastic and very large. Great soups, great salads, great place!

Extremely Disappointing and Unwelcoming Experience

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this cafĂ©. I was working on my laptop while waiting for my drink (my friend arrived the cafe earlier than me so she ordered previously, while i’ve just arrived) with a friend when a waitress approached us in an unpleasant manner, asking if we were going to stay longer because we had been there for few hours. She implied that we were taking up space, even though we were paying customers.

Shortly after, a group of three arrived, but there was no available table for them. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the waitress made us feel uncomfortable, indirectly pressuring us to leave. The new customers ended up leaving, and shockingly, the waitress blamed us for their loss by saying “ it’s too late, we lost the customers already”, meanwhile i told the waitress that i can move to the same table and squeeze a bit with my friend (the tables are very tiny, can barely fit 2 laptops and 2 cups of coffee).

I feel like our treatment was unfair, and I wondered whether it had anything to do with the fact that we were Asian. Regardless of the intent, this kind of service is unacceptable. Many people visit cafĂ©s to work or relax, and it’s common for them to stay for extended periods, especially when they continue ordering. Treating loyal customers as an inconvenience is not only rude but also terrible business practice.

While the coffee was decent, the service and atmosphere left a horrible impression. I will not be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values respect and...

The ultimate hidden-gem of Leicester! Absolutely wonderful cafe, my favourite of all time! The owner is lovely and all the staff are chatty and friendly, fantastic customer service, they truly make you feel at home! The cafe itself is gorgeous, a rustic yet timelessly cool look, kitted out with vintage school benches and a retro kit kat machine. The owner is a skilled calligrapher and his fantastic typography adorns the walls. Not only does this cafe look stunning and have fantastic customer service, it also serves some of the most INCREDIBLE coffee I've ever had. They have delicious vegan milk options, and for those who don't enjoy coffee, they make incredible, velvety hot chocolate made with melted chocolate flakes and foamy milk. An absolute delight, not...
