La Forêt Café has been our favourite place to eat since we first found it through Instagram in 2022. We are regular customers and have always been impressed with Rads, his team, the menu and the quality of the dishes. He is a wizard when it comes to cakes - and La Forêt is worth a visit for that alone. However, it is Rads’ Tunisian style of food which is where my favourites lay. His use of harissa as an accompanying spice / condiment is inspired. His choices of beautiful crockery together with the music streaming takes you somewhere other than King Street in Leicester. This is no ‘greasy spoon’, and whilst those cafes have a massive following (me included) it is more than a treat to visit La Forêt. I write this as we are about to relocate away from Leicester, which will make future visits even more special as we coordinate visits to see family & friends with Rads’ opening hours. It has been a pleasure getting to know Rads over the last few years and we will miss everything about La Forêt. And not forgetting, we have always been made to feel welcome when we visit with our dog too. Sitting outside in the sunshine, eating phenomenal food and cake, drinking excellent coffee and watching the world go by as people walk past to & from New Walk is a real treat. Folks - please try La Forêt. I wouldn’t gush with praise if I didn’t mean it. Take care Rads and see you on our...

The service is wonderful - really kind and helpful people who gave great service
The food was delicious; we had the Thai curry and found it was the perfect ratio of rice, veg, and sauce - slightly spice for the perfect kick We also had their peanut butter pancakes and pecan tart, absolutely lush! I've never had such tasty pancakes before, they were divine. The tart was sooooo good, the perfect level of sweetness and the taste of the toasted pecan was brilliant.
For drinks we had a red velvet latte and chai latte. For me, red velvet lattes have never been that special to me so I thought it would be average; I was actually blown away by the warm rich flavour - it's the first (for me) that genuinely tasted red velvet-y. The chai latte was the perfect match for the tart and pancakes. The spice complimented the desserts perfectly and was the right quantity too. The drinks also didn't cool down too quickly which is quite common.
Overall, I don't think I could recommend them enough. It's a cute cosy spot that I will definitely be...
Read moreI found this place for the 1st time yesterday with Middle Eastern, Mediterranean & contemporary English deli classics including a range of vegetarian & vegan classics all prepared superbly with the freshest ingredients. The location was petite, however the ambience was fresh, clean, & beautiful, with simple but effective artistic details wherever you looked. The staff were kind, attentive & friendly, & the food excellently prepared. Myself & my friend ate lunch as well as coffee, however it looked some appetising, we immediately tucked in when it arrived & didn't stop to photograph anything. I had the egg Florentine which I appreciated due to having a Florentine grandmother on my mother's side. While I waited for my friend, I did photograph my cappucino & the refreshing mint & lime water that was available for free. These guys deserve 5 stars all round, no doubt I will be returning again. Thank you!...
