It’s with a heavy heart I leave this review, this pub always delivered and is our anniversary place…on this occasion after my partner battling cancer all year and me suffering a stroke we hadn’t been anywhere, I spent £320 on a hotel for a Christmas present so I could take my partner for a meal at our favourite place…unfortunately we got to the door and a door lady refused entry saying she watched me approaching and I was unsteady on my feet, well suffering a stroke I have been struggling to keep my balance, I explained we had a table booked, the door lady went for the manager, I tried to explain I booked this for my partner as she had a really tough year battling cancer…the lady manager kind of said my mum has got cancer but I can’t let you in…I thought it was horrible for her to say this as it took me so much to get her the confidence to go out again, I turned and stumbled due to my paralysis on one side and the manager said this is why your not coming in..I guess you don’t like to invite disabled people in…trust me we eat there a lot and I get harassed by drunk people every time, but we love the food..it didn’t end there, we were pointed out by doorman on the way home which really knocked my partners confidence again, it appears they radio to other clubs…we had no intention to go in another pub we just wanted our meal and go home…I’ve never witnessed such discrimination against disability before…I’m now trying to build up my partners confidence again…even though this was our go to place I will...

So I guess if you hire a dj and you sing in a pub for 3 minutes on a Saturday night then you are deemed unfit to consume...

We did enquire about this and this was quickly rectified. There was plenty on the plate that couldn't be faulted, however...
The christmas pudding looked like it had been under the carvery knife...in other words, very fine slices of rectangle pudding with a drizzle of brandy sauce.
It came as no surprise that we were the party who booked that evening..perhaps other people knew something that we didn't
C'mon City Tavern...you can do better than this. You have a lovely main menu with wide variety of choices and yet your Christmas Menu is a...
