St Martin's is a consistently enjoyable location for brunch or coffee, or both! The restaurant is filled with plants which makes for a nice atmosphere, the seating is all pleasantly mismatched and it isn't crammed or cluttered. Even when it is busy here, it feels relaxed for the customer. We went for brunch at 10am on Sunday because we are morning people and it was super quiet. We did find it a bit odd that we were just given menus and sent on our way to find a table but the choice was nice. We ordered a couple of coffees and brunches to share - the chicken waffles and the NYC breakfast burger - and payment was requested at the point of ordering. The drinks came at the same time as the food and both were speedy, but again it was very quiet. My cappuccino was loaded with chocolate flakes - yum! The chicken waffles have changed since the last time I came which was lovely. This is such a tasty meal, it felt weird eating it at 10 am but who cares, right? It was full of flavour, tangy, sweet and crispy. We shared each dish but this is a huge portion for one. The burger was delicious too: hash brown, cheese, bacon and ketchup - maybe an egg too I don't recall. I will say that there was just one tiny hash brown I think it needed two, but for a simple burger it was surprisingly satisfying. I have never not enjoyed a trip to St Martin's, just be mindful that during busy periods you won't have quite the same speed as we experienced but you will definitely enjoy it either way!

Brunch here today was very enjoyable. I really enjoyed my chicken waffles (a favourite of mine and very well executed) and the others enjoyed their meals too. The chicken is so tasty and beautifully crisp, and Frank's hot sauce on the side is a great touch. The hot chocolates are beautiful too. Service was top notch and super friendly. My only two comments and obviously it in no way affected the rating: the peppermint tea was nice but WAY too strong. I was glad to have loose leaf tea though. Makes a welcome change from teabags. Also, the 'maple syrup' isn't maple syrup unfortunately, it's maple flavoured syrup which makes a big difference. But it wasn't really needed anyway!

WHY NOT GIVE AN EXTRA CUP. CUSTOMER SERVICE. MAKE YOUR CUSTOMERS HAPPY. IT MAKES ZERO SENSE NOT TO.

As the owner of a cafe and barista myself in NYC and someone who is from leicester i pop in here every other day and buy a pot of tea and a snack, today its not very busy i would add a photo if i could. i ask for an extra cup for the single pot of tea. It pours 3 cups, why am i then spoken to in such inhospitable way? "No we don't do that, why are you giving him a cup " [when i asked someone else]. A successful Business needs to RETAIN clients not loose them.

If i spend 8 - 10 £ every other day, lets say £40 a week. £160 a month and thats just me. Ive brought my brother here and my friend and my mother. I was going to bring my friends here also, this has now changed.

Learn customer service and manners. The 'rule' does not always have to apply if you want to have a successful business. The client needs to leave happy. And asking for a cup isn't going to break the bank. The pot was empty quickly and we left. Lovely waitress. But others gave uncomfortable vibes. There are plenty of other...

One of the better cafes in Leicester, always busy and seems to have regulars who love going there. The coffee is very good, the food is good but a little inconsistent.

There are a couple of issues with the place which holds it back from a perfect score. Firstly, the layout and furnishing is not good. It has a pretty good style, but I feel it has a unusual mix of being a little chaotic yet little too regimented. Weird contradiction. Secondly, its too busy and often the nicest places to sit are always taken.

I think some might find these complaints inconsequential, but it is important when you are going to sit down and enjoy a nice up of coffee with someone. I never seem to sit, and I feel like its mostly because the layout is a mix between cafe and restaurant.

I would actually recommend this place mostly if you are either going to eat, or you want to buy a coffee to take away. Then I think it's near...
