We were staying outside of Chester over the Easter holidays. We could not get a table at our resort and our teens weren't keen on the menu anyway. So we went into Chester for Five Guys Burgers, fries and shakes. Yes, it seems pricey for a burger, but these are not your hard, heavy, full of fillers burgers. Just straight up good beef. Plus they try and source all things local. Want to know where they got the potatoes for those amazing fries/chips? They have a chalkboard that they update with the name of the farm and it's location. All burgers are doubles. If you can't have or don't want the bun, you can have yours in a bowl or as a lettuce wrap. Bowl is my choice as it's easier to manage and can hold a whole lot of veggie toppings.
Fries, oh it's like Christmas, they fill the cup, put that in a bag and then add another scoop of fries on top.
Milk shakes, real ice cream, lots of add/mix ins. It's truly how milk shakes should be made.
Staff was fantastic. Answered our questions and were always helpful and kind. Couldn't ask for more.
Most importantly, best burgers we've had in a long time.
Burgers don't need fillers and binders, Five Guys, well...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreExcellent at adhering to social distancing. Male manager (so sorry i never got his name!) Was amazing. Never been before, my family sat down and i ordered food. When food was brought over and my son tucked into his burger i read a sign about food being cooked in peanut oil, he had already eaten the burger, but we couldnt risk the fried chips so moved them and gave him an antihistamine and had epi pen ready!!. Unfortunately he has type 1 diabetes too and had given insulin for his food, so decided to get him a milkshake to make up for the missed carbs from the fries. The lady on the desk said couldnt risk it with having just done a peanut butter milkshake so the manager cleaned the machine thoroughly so no traces and gave him a chocolate milkshake on the house. Really made my sons day and was so lovely of the manager to do that for him, usually i have to apologise to my son and he misses out with his nut allergy but the manager made his day a happy one. Would recommend Five...
Read moreThree burgers, one hotdog, two fries and four drinks. £72. I honestly thought the guy serving me had made a mistake.
The order was delivered in a large paper bag and buried under loose fries that had been shovelled in on top of everything. We were then able to eat some damp burgers and insanely salty fries off a small piece of tin foil. For £72.
The milkshakes we ordered arrived after we had finished the meal.
And the state of the toiletsā¦ š¤¢š¦
Clearly a lot of people love this concept & experience and for Ā£40 maybe I wouldnāt have spent the whole time in shock muttering āseventy two poundsā. But this was our first and last Five Guys experience - come back Maccy D, all is forgiven!
And did I mention that it was £72???...
