Leaving my review here, but will also add to trip advisor once it will let me 😅 This place is brilliant, the games are really well thought out, and provide a great, immersive experience 😁 The two rooms I've done recently were Vacancy with Lucie as our game runner and Dead End with Eve as our game runner. Both were brilliant! Vacancy was great, and really felt like you were stepping into an old motel. Dead end... not for the faint hearted, from the creepy music to creaky floor boards and bangs from the front door, everything added to our experience and had us scared zombies were actually coming to get us 😂 Both were a fantastic time, only made better by the brilliant game runners. Both were lovely, helpful, and really knew the stories behind each room and set the scene so well. Even though we didnt make it out of dead end, which I will try again at some point 😅, the days out were still brilliant fun, and I look forward to coming back again soon to try out another room 😁 Thank you breakout chester, and I'm looking forward to seeing you...

My partner and I completed the Forsaken escape room. Unfortunately, it wasn't a great experience. Our host failed to explain how all the padlocks worked once they found out that we had completed two escape rooms prior to this one. This meant we wasted a few minutes playing around with a lock we didn't understand. They also didn't bother with creating an immersive experience. Furthermore, the room itself was quite bland and didn't really lean into the theme. The room was mainly just undoing padlocks and didn't involve many puzzles, just finding codes which got pretty boring. Also, our host gave us clues to padlocks we had already solved several times which became quite frustrating. Lastly, the door opened before we had completed the room about 20 minutes before the end which completely ruined what little illusion remained. At the end our host informed us that it had been occurring all day, which I feel we could have been informed of before entering or a message could've been displayed on the TV telling us to...

We had never done a breakout or escape room before, but decided to do one while on holiday in Chester and really enjoyed it!

Its easy to find, first of all.

Emily, our game host, was really engaging, fun and explained all the crucial bits (and provided a few helpful and timely hints or clues along the way!)

We have a 14 year old and 8 year old and were able to get thoroughly involved during the experience.

If youve never done it before, dont let that hold you back. Give it a go - i guarantee youll enjoy it and be looking forward to the next one!

Importantly at the minute, everything is cleamed and sanitised after the group before you finish, so you feel safe and well looked after throughout.

Really great experience! Thank you Emily and...

I came here as part of a friend's hen do weekend. I'd never really been fussed about Escape Rooms before so I wasn't expecting much but the staff were so friendly and enthusiastic when they gave us our storyline that they really got me excited to get in to the escape room. The room itself was a lot of fun and I found it easier than I thought I would which was nice as I actually solved a lot of clues and felt like I pulled my weight and got my money's worth. We got out with about 11 minutes to spare, and that was even after I'd spent a good 5 minutes obsessing over an object that wasn't even part of the game! I'd recommend Breakout Chester to anyone who doesn't see themselves as an Escape Room kind of person because I had a lot of fun!

2022 - Had a great time at Breakout with workmates but we saw couples and a families here too after completing their challenges in different rooms. I would definitely go back here with my 13 year old and try out a different room. So much fun and the staff make it really enjoyable. 2023 Edit - I went back today with my now 14 year old son! We had an absolutely fantastic time, the staff are so enthusiastic in wanting to make sure we have the best time (thanks Wilfred). My son wasn't really looking forward to going but once we got 'stuck in' he loved it and really wants to go again for another room!

We did the Egyptian escape room for my birthday and loved it. Facilities are good and were nice and cool! (we visited during the heat wave). Toilets on site. Escape room itself was great. Lots of the classic locks and puzzles, well constructed and a very professional feel to it. Having my kids with me (11 and 14) is great as they think so differently and might spot things we hadn't. Venue itself is easy to access in the heart of Chester. The room we did was downstairs so not wheelchair accessible.
