We visited here with our 9 year old son, it's not a massive museum, but we spent 90 minutes here, which could've been longer if we didn't have to meet some friends for lunch.
The collection covers a wide period of military history, with plenty of information about the exhibits.
The medal collection is as extensive as it is stunning, is well displayed and accessable and has the names of the original owners who were awarded the medals which is a really nice touch as some museums don't do this.
Lots of historic weapons on display, as well as some more modern types, some fantastic miniature scenes (see my pictures), a few video screens playing content as well as loads of other memorabilia.

Really liked the World War 1 & 2 exhibits like the bunker setpiece. Once these exhibitions are done, you wind back to the reception area. But it's not over. You can go outside. (There isn't any signage for this and if I hadn't been told about it, I would have missed it). Outside, there's a couple of military vehicles and then that leads onto another area about modern armed forced. I think that area could be a lot better. Gen Sir Warren Hastings Anderson KCB... extremely helpful staff, and within 5 minutes, I found Hastings Medals. (I am still searching for Hastings uniform, which I know was donated somewhere and only found one medal for David so curious where his others are.)
