We were a group of 5 and visiting Scarborough Sunday gone. We decided to pop in for a drink but hadn't noticed that the shop was due to close at 4. Unfortunately we never stayed as the young long haired blonde man behind the counter with tattoos made hus feelings very clear. He started to stomp around behind the counter, scowled hideously at us as he cleared the work surfaces making a racket and crockery clattering. He then stormed into the kitchen for a prolonged period and so we left. It was obvious he was very angry at us turning up so closely to the closing time. If he had politely just told us this that would have been acceptable instead of treating us like lepers. We went to Starbucks instead further up the same road where we were not subjected to such an outrageous display of poor customer service. This is one place we will not be returning to on...

Can’t fault the coffee, but the food is a strange one. There is a serious consistency issue.

We have eaten here several times now and ordered the same thing several times. Each time the same thing off the menu is different from what it was previously - it could be different bread (sometimes toasted, sometimes not), different sides, different ingredients. Sometimes it’s really good and sometimes it falls flat.

The poached eggs are really weird - it’s as if the yolks have been turned into a viscous jelly somehow. They should burst and run over your food when you cut into them.

Please improve consistency and learn to poach an egg properly, especially if you’re going to serve shakshuka.

Best cafe in Scarborough, no THE WORLD.

Specialist coffee (by North Star) and brewed to perfection. Best coffee I have ever had in my entire life, not exaggerating. I come every day because it’s so good.

Also food is lovely, breakfast and lunch options, including home made soups. Seasonal menu so food is always lovely reflecting the season (e.g a Brie and blackcurrant croissant!). And all the cakes and bakes are so fresh and amazing.
