I complained about the service I received on our second visit to the coffee shop. The Owner dealt with the complaint efficiently and even processed a refund which I wasn’t expecting. I have changed the service rating from 1 star to 5 stars due to the excellent way the complaint was dealt with. I definitely feel much happier returning to sample the excellent food. Thank you
Old review below: response from Owner was really good.
This was our second visit this week after a really nice experience on our first visit. The food and service on the first visit was excellent. We noticed that they did an afternoon tea for 2 so we visited the coffee shop again today. We arrived a few minutes before 2pm and we were charged £25.90 for the afternoon tea. The offer of £17.95 started at 2pm. When I questioned the young lad serving he stated that the offer of £17.95 for 2 people is only available at 2pm. This was a couple of minutes before 2pm. And he just turned round and said nothing I can do, it’s before 2pm and you can see the big clock. No apology, no refund just bad attitude. I was absolutely appalled at the response. It ruined the afternoon tea and we won’t be retuning. Such a shame after our wonderful...
Read moreHaving visited Grind for many months now I am used to the service being a little slow, which if it is only a coffee isn't a problem. However, having to wait twenty minutes between being served toasted teacakes and the accompanying coffee is unacceptable and meant the teacakes became cold and inedible. I did get the impression that my coffee had been forgotten, not for the first time I might add. I was given the excuse that there had been a coffee spill but I was waiting prior to this incident. Even when my coffee was eventually made the server spent a further two minutes displaying his latte art skills to a fellow staff member. Extremely disappointed and I don't think the staff realised how poor their service was on this occasion. I will no longer be visiting this cafe when...
Read moreMum and I are on a tour of Scarborough coffee shops. I ordered a gluten free toastie and mum a baked potato. I had a turmeric soy latte which was gorgeous but mums soy latte arrived lukewarm as it had cold milk in it. Mums meal was hearty, she got two baked potatoes, she said the cheese was delicious and we both had home made coleslaw. The crisps served with the meals were just ordinary dorito type tortillas. I am grateful for decent gluten free options anywhere I go and my lunch was good - far better than eating a bag of crisps in Starbucks because there's nothing else savoury on offer, but I'm also used to being served the kind of gluten free bread that turns to mush and this was no different. The decor was lovely and we loved the art and crafts so much we...
