Greensmith Coffee — Restaurant in England

First time in here today, had some good recommendations so thought we’d try it. First of all, I love the fact you can bring your dogs in here, we don’t have a dog but I love animals, so it’s lovely to see them. Atmosphere was nice, staff seem friendly and polite. The ham and cheese toasties were superb 👌 probably one of the best we’ve tried in Scarborough, plenty of cheese and the right amount of ham, nice touch with the whole grain mustard. we had salad and a small bowl of crisps which went well with the toasties. Although we had to wait for 40 mins for the food, we both thought the food was worth the wait. Americano was a good strength and went down a treat with our food. Salad garnish is the few leaves from a bag of mixed fairly limp stuff.... (the usual that I don't believe many people still enjoy if they ever did. Wash and chop some nice lettuce, other salad and red onion. There were the , cherry tomatoe halves and some cucumber. Not very inspiring. Porridge, was the worse ever, it wasn't porridge at all, it was warm cooked oats floating or sunk rather in a bowl of warm milk. Not porridge which is not difficult to make. Simmer and stir for ten mins, ideally a bit longer, give a good stir up and add a little sea salt. A didn't particularly want a gloopy dollop but would have preferred that to what was served.
