Worst place, don’t waste your time here, this is a Bangladeshi place with full Bangladeshi staff, who are unable to speak English, they just call one staff who speaks English again and again, you ask any questions. We were 4 adults, 4 kids(ages 8,6,6,4) and 1 baby in buggy. When we entered the staff helped us with the buggy and welcomed us. We had drinks worth £42, then we wished to order about six starters worth £5.95 and two mains worth about £14 each The asked us that we should atleast order 4 main or they cannot serve us. When we called the manager, who was the most arrogant person, he insisted the same thing and we asked him that why is it not written on the door about their rules, or even on the menu, then he arrogantly said that that is the rule and said that I refuse to service, we should pay for the drinks and leave immediately. You decide for yourself if you wish to visit this place, we all went home hungry including the kids

During my visit to the Lake District, I had the pleasure of dining at this charming restaurant with my wife. From the moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by the delightful ambiance it offered. The staff was incredibly warm, courteous, and truly professional, ensuring that every aspect of our experience was taken care of. But it was the food that truly left me in surprise. The flavors were simply outstanding, so much so that even now, the taste lingers on my tongue. The delicious dishes kept beckoning me back, and I found myself returning to this restaurant for dinner every evening throughout my stay in the Lake District. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant if you're looking to make your dinner truly memorable. The combination of the wonderful environment, the friendly and skilled staff, and the delectable food creates an experience that you wouldn't want to miss.

We were warmly welcomed, especially as Arab and Gulf visitors, and appreciated the hospitality at the entrance. However, the food was extremely disappointing. This restaurant does not serve authentic Indian cuisine. The dishes lacked salt, spices, and any real flavor. It was clear the chef had no proper knowledge of Indian cooking. To make things worse, the spoon provided was dirty, and even after requesting a clean one, the issue wasn’t addressed. Surprisingly, the staff even asked us to hand them the plates, spoons, and other items from the table, as if we were part of the service team. While the reception was pleasant, the food quality shocked us. I truly wish I had believed the previous one-star reviews. They were absolutely accurate. I do not recommend dining here

If possible I would have given it less than a star. PLEASE DO NOT GO THERE, you will REGRET, I am telling you. If you have got time, read the story below, if not, leave it, but in any case do not go there.Again, you will REGRET!!!

Was in lake district with family and after surfing around lake windermere decided to have Indian meal, googled and found only one , the named above. Went there around 8:00 in the evening, seemed busy but not that much, no greeting, no professionalism, no customer service, a man with beard in the counter was shouting to someone over the phone. we sat down, after 10 minutes we ordered our food, we waited, nothing came, waited again, nothing , after about 70 minutes the kids fell asleep, so we decided to have a takeaway, the manager said ok, my wife and kids stayed in the car but I waited in the restaurant to collect it. I SWEAR, I am not lying. another hour gone, no food. Finally a bag with food came, didn't check time, may be after 2.50 hours. I left the with the food thanking the manager.

Got to hotel, kids(9&5yrs) were already asleep, didn't like to wake them up, opened the bag and found out 3 items were missing, Phoned the restaurant, no apology, nothing, asked if he could refund, he said thats not possible but offered us to pick those missing items the next day, I told him I would be leaving to London early the next day. He again asked me, " when are you coming to Lake District next time?"

Made more than 10 telephone calls to ask for the refund, everytime there was one or the other excuse," manager isn't here, boss isn't here, i am not allowed to process the refund, give me your telephone number i will ask the boss to call you, blah blah blah"

finally got the refund for the missing items. Thank God.

Oh, forgot to tell about the food; in my entire life, haven't eaten such a bland and tasteless food, one thing was enough though, OIL . rest let me not go in detail,...

Walked in and managed to get a table for 2 on a Friday night without a reservation. Restaurant was clean, and staff friendly and efficient service. Poppadoms and chutneys were really fresh and tasty - loved them. We had a jalfrezi and rogan josh for mains and these were equally nice, great tasting and not greasy. Naan breads fresh and also lovely. Pilau rice..... Well..... Its just rice!! So far everything amazing. Why not 5 stars? Well firstly, I can't give 4.5 stars, as on the whole the food was lovely and would definitely go back in a heartbeat. 2 tiny gripes.

  1. we sometimes share rice and naan, but wanted to make sure the portions weren't too tiny so asked our waiter. He advised the rice is only enough for 1 person and we ended up increasing the order on his advice. Needless to say, we ended up eating to the point of feeling uncomfortable and still ended up leaving naan and loads of pilau. Now ordinarily more food would be great, but a little disappointed we were encouraged to order more food than needed. Perhaps sounds petty, and I get that this is a subjective issue, but if you usually share sundries, then you can do this here without fear of going hungry!!
  2. The restaurant I feel is a little expensive compared to other Indian restaurants I've eaten in. To the tune of 20%+ more on average I would guess. Again, not particularly objective as it is relative to where you would ordinarily eat, but for the increase in price I would have expected a "wow" factor with the decor/ambience and attention to detail. Despite these minor negatives, for which I would knock off half a star only, I would definitely eat in there again as the food was beautiful and staff...

On our holiday in England’s Lake District, we came across this Indian eatery. This eatery has Indian staff. We were not greeted by any one as we entered, very unlikely in England’s restaurants. The restaurant was empty only couple of tables were occupied. We requested the manager to sit on a table for 4, instead of just showing us the table.. he called one of the waiters to show us the table. We again requested to be seated where other people were sitting… instead we were made to sit in the other area where there was no one else and given a corner table sticking to a heater. Not one smile, from any of the staff while serving us…all had some serious faces… but we realised, they were happily smiling and were friendly to the other nationality customers.. we had to ask for fork and spoons, don’t know why they assumed we would eat with our hands.. Biryani was served with serving plate without plates to eat… we had to ask for one… only once towards the end, the manager came and asked is everything alright…which meant nothing after all the attitude thrown since we entered…overall a horrible experience… In my entire 20 days trip throughout England’s country side this is the only place I would never recommend to any Indian… other nationals can go enjoy the place because they actually go overboard trying to please them . The local British are more welcoming friendly and well mannered. I wish I could give minus 5 for...
