We picked this spot for our lunch on a a trip to Keswick, and we weren’t disappointed - it’s as cosy and quirky on the inside as it looks from outdoors. Not surprisingly it was busy, but we had a comfortable and short wait for a table, where we were entertained by the canine customers (this is a super dog friendly cafe, and there’s plenty space and water for dogs!) Both the food and coffee were excellent, I can’t comment on the prices as I have no comparison for the local area but we were very happy with the value for money. The menu is fantastic for gluten free and vegan diets (which makes our life a lot easier) They’ve also done an excellent job of putting social distancing measures in place.

My friend and I popped in here one Saturday lunchtime. The café is just around the corner from the main high street. We hadn't pre-booked, but we only waited a short time before a table was available. The staff were friendly and welcoming, providing a good service. The cafe was clean and tidy. It's obviously a very popular place to visit, as the cafe was constantly busy. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome. The breakfast menu finishes at noon before switching to lunchtime food. We had the hashbrowns with chorizo plus the mushrooms on toast. Both were delicious. Together with a couple of soft drinks, we each paid just over £12. There are also loos on the premises. A good place to visit.

My partner and I stopped by to get some food on the go. We went for the Marley pittas. These where chorizo & halloumi with chilli jam. 5/5 soo tasty. Not too spicey either. Food was made fresh. They were served with conpostable forks in brown paper boxes a they are environmentally conscious which is great to see. The place welcomes dogs and the staff where very friendly. Ingredients where of a high standard. Portions are always small here in Keswick but actually there was enough there to keep us going. I didn’t try the coffee as I don’t drink it. Warm and welcoming inside.

We were actually looking for having breakfast and stumbled across Jasper's Coffee House. I have to say I was a bit unsure as I am the most fussy eater when it comes to food. We were seated immediately with all the Covid precautions put in place I.e the glass seperate on each table and the staff were properly masked. They also took the details for tracking trace that showed that they were well prepared. After Covid I have been to places and this was the first one where they actually taking such precautions. I am super happy with that. Now the main part .. the food... I had ordered a vegan sandwich and sweet potato fries just to be on the safe side. I have to say .. it was the best sandwich I have ever had. They have nailed the food. We're were a family of 3. My husband had ordered halloumi with Pete bread and coleslaw on the side. (Best coleslaw I have ever tasted) I ended up hogging from his plate too. Shocked himself.. he said I wish Jasper has a chain and they come to London so that my wife can eat something that is not Indian. And yes I totally agree with him. It's amazing food. Quirky place with a very dog friendly ambiance ! If you visit you 'll know what I am talking about. !! Highly...

The staff were less than enthusiastic and the service left much to be desired. The bacon was limp and undercooked. So too was the lone hash brown, for which there is a surcharge of £1. The full English breakfast was small and poor value for money, even when aggregating for Keswick prices, and I’ve had much better elsewhere. We were particularly excited to take our young dog there because the website advertises; “We love to make a fuss of all dogs that visit us, with water, treats and bandanas provided free of charge. We also do a number of other doggy treats such as cakes, ice cream, doggy beer.’’. They did not acknowledge the dog at all, and when we asked about the special doggy treats to buy for him we were provided with 3 tiny biscuits, and the staff did not offer any other options. The coffee was lacklustre despite using good beans and the tea was over brewed, I wanted to ask for more hot water, but no further service to our table made this impossible. Overall, I had a disappointing and underwhelming experience which did not meet the expectations I had gained from reading...

Me and my girlfriend are currently travelling back down to Manchester today and decided to stop at Jaspers for some breakfast.

We were placed in rather uncomfortable seating which we asked to be moved from as my girlfriend was on a booth and I was on a feeble chair which left me slouched, the waitress told us we couldn’t move in case large groups come in, which was said in a really blunt manner (literally no one else come in the whole time we was there).

My girlfriend ordered the vegan breakfast but asked for the avocados (£3) & mushroom (£1.50) for a hash brown (£1.50) to which we was told they could not swap the items but would be able to charge us extra for hash browns, this literally makes no sense?? The waitresses attitude was awful and she had extremely poor customer service which made us both feel extremely uncomfortable.

The food was really nice but would be expected with the price it’s at.

There’s a sign in the cafe which says it thank you for supporting an independent business, well I’ve never been treated as poorly in any corporate establishment I’ve been to...
