Kokoro — Restaurant in England

This food definitely is not Japanese....more like McDonald's in disguise! 😒 I was excited to see online a apparently Japanese food establishment to use at lunchtime for a hot meal to take away....Everything , which is about 3 different version of the same thing is covered in breadcrumbs and dropped in fat......two dishes not covered in breadcrumbs were chicken and salmon teriyaki these dishes are covered in a high fructose sickly sauce nothing of a true Japanese taste or of any taste whatsoever other than sugar. When I asked why they sell nothing hot that vaguely resembles Japanese food like a tofu dish the server told me British people wouldn't eat real Japanese food....this is insulting and as they only sell high glucose /fatty dishes how do they know customers wouldn't buy healthy Japanese food.....it's not like the food they sell is cheap...massive cost to the customer and the food isnt close Japanese .....it was a vile bowl of over cooked rice and the worse teriyaki salmon I've ever tasted. Avoid ...if you want chicken in breadcrumbs dropped in fat go to chicken place's....at least they are cheaper and not pretending it's healthy or something else. Trading standards should look at the prices and food description and fine this business for lying and deceiving...

We have been dining at the Kokoro branch in Wimbledon for years and recently moved away from London. Visiting Leicester we found another branch of Kokoro and it lived up to expectation. The food is great; piping hot, crispy chicken and lovely katzu curry. Plenty of sides are available including spring rolls, gyuko and more. Great assortment of cold drinks and everything is reasonably priced and clear. There is clear brand consistency as the restaurant looks and feels like the others we had been too. Dropped a star as there is still a long wait as the counter is so busy; the toilets were elusive and difficult to find. The restaurant is not suitable for people who are in wheelchairs or cannot go up lots of stairs- however take away us available. There is also a small outdoor area with two tables and seats. Nice to visit this franchise;...

This is the third time visiting a different Kokoro. It is the first time where they wouldn't customise options even though we were the only ones in there. Disappointing as all the other Kokoros had before and we could see someone making up the sushi so it isn't like anyone wasn't available.

This happened the second time visiting this Kokoro yesterday, the first time we went at lunch time and ordered a Pumpkin Katsu Curry and a Chicken Katsu Curry, we were very surprised at how much Pumpkin and Chicken we got as other places like Yo Sushi for example only give you a small amount. The down side was that I felt like the curry had a bit of a strange after taste, I have tried a lot of katsu Currys and none of them had this weird taste.
