🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 A Fantastic Dining Experience at Rosa’s Thai York – Special Thanks to Amy!
From the moment I stepped into Rosa’s Thai in York, I knew I was in for something special. The cozy, modern interior immediately set a welcoming tone, blending the vibrancy of Thai culture with a relaxed, stylish ambiance. But what truly elevated the evening was the impeccable service provided by our server, Amy, who went above and beyond to make our visit memorable.
Amy greeted us with a warm smile and a friendly, professional demeanor that instantly made us feel at ease. She took the time to explain the menu, offering thoughtful recommendations based on our preferences, and even shared some background on the ingredients and flavors unique to Thai cuisine. Her passion for the food and attention to detail were evident throughout the night.
We started with the Thai calamari and fresh summer rolls, both of which were bursting with flavor and perfectly presented. Amy ensured our starters arrived promptly and checked in just the right amount—not too much to interrupt, but always there when we needed something. It was a delicate balance that she managed effortlessly.
For mains, we ordered the Panang curry and Pad Thai—classics that Rosa’s Thai is known for—and they did not disappoint. The curry had a rich, creamy texture with just the right amount of spice, and the Pad Thai was delightfully balanced between sweet, savory, and tangy. Amy made sure our spice preferences were noted and checked in to ensure everything was to our liking.
What truly set Amy apart was her genuine care and attentiveness. She was patient, knowledgeable, and always had a cheerful attitude. Whether it was suggesting a drink pairing (the Thai iced tea was perfect!) or making sure dietary preferences were accommodated, Amy made the whole experience feel personal and seamless.
To top it off, dessert was a dream. We tried the mango sticky rice, which was a wonderful, authentic end to the meal. Again, Amy timed everything perfectly and made us feel unhurried, allowing us to enjoy each course fully.
Overall, Rosa’s Thai York delivered an outstanding dining experience—delicious food, a great atmosphere, and most importantly, exceptional service. Amy truly made our night special, and her dedication and warmth deserve recognition. It’s rare to come across such attentive service, and it absolutely made all the difference.
I’ll definitely be returning, and I’ll be requesting Amy again if possible. Highly recommend Rosa’s Thai in York for anyone looking for authentic Thai cuisine and...
Read moreWe booked last minute for a meal during a weekend in York, we have never been before and were very pleasantly surprised. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with smiles. Our server Luke was so lovely and provided excellent service throughout, checking that our meals were ok and that our drinks were always topped up, he was a star and really made the meal a great experience. The lemonade was super refreshing and as me and my partner were very hungover it was the perfect pick me up. The cocktails also looked amazing but due to our sorry state more alcohol was not on the cards for us. I had the Tom Yum noodle soup - one of my favourite meals - and it did not disappoint, I was so full I brought it home and cannot wait to finish it off on a later occasion, the spring rolls were also delish. The food was so tasty and refreshing. I had the Thai churros for desert which perfectly rounded off the meal. 10/10 place and can’t wait to go back to one of their locations closer to our home. Great food and great atmosphere at what I thought was a really reasonable price. Extra bonus point to the recipe card you get with the bill, im going out to buy the recipe book as soon as possible (hoping the lemonade recipe is...
Read moreFirst time in Rosa's for the two of us. We normally visit the traditional Thai independent restaurants in York. The food was outstanding in quality and flavour, so no complaints there. Quantity-wise, we actually felt the portions were too large, especially the Pad Thai. Great, if you want to gorge, but a waste of good food if you have to leave some when you cannot finish it. The service was wonderful; fast, friendly, and could not be more obliging. The temperature in the restaurant was spot-on. And everything was incredibly clean. The issues. The atmosphere; it felt soulless. If you are looking for a traditional Thai feel restaurant, you will not find it here. It felt corporate, like a national chain, which of course, it is; the wrong type of music and décor. Also, the imposed service charge of 12.5%. I do not like being told to reward someone by having this charge automatically added. I know I could have chosen to have it removed, but I prefer to reward myself, often more than 12.5%. And finally, two starters, two mains, wines and a small sparkling water £97! In summary, great food, great staff, you will not leave hungry, and you will not be cold, but it's just too...
