Sha-Ka Coffee House & Eatery — Restaurant in England

Extremely sad about this.

I tried sha-ka recently since it changed hands. I have tried it many times before it changed hands. Here are my thoughts -

The fish tacos - the fish has reduced in size to the size of a chicken nugget. They were also overcooked. The lemon and pea bites are air-fryer frozen fritter things out of a bag. I found these in the freezer at the supermarket.

These and a soft drink came to £32+. If I was with someone else this would have cost nearly £70.

May I ask why you have done this?

Why would you buy a successful business with a winning formula and then immediately interfere with the quality like this? You know it’s a false economy right? People will catch on to it, tell everyone and then sha-ka will lose customers and maybe even fail.

We’re not stupid. Please don’t treat us like we are. Don’t cheapen things and think we won’t realise.

I don’t want to lose this restaurant. I want it to succeed. Please fix it.

If I return in a few months and find nothing has changed, you get one star and this review remains up.

What an awesome hidden gem we discovered while on our way to the seaside! This spot is the place to go for tropical, tiki taco vibes. The decor and musical ambience spark a groovy atmosphere upon entry before being greeted by the lovely, welcoming owner. My husband had only run in to get change for the parking meter but immediately took me back in to eat a fabulously delicious lunch. This place hands down has the best poke bowl I've had outside of the United States! The halloumi fries were so lite and just about melted in our mouths coupled with the tasty chilli sauce. My husband's fish tacos had the most authentic pico de gallo I've ever found in the UK! We will definitely be back for more when we are in town next. Be sure to get to this place as quickly as you can for delicious...

Beaut cosy and colourful interior with a Hawaiin theme and the most delicious food.

Great vegan breakfast/brunch and lunch options. Would recommend the vegan granola for sure! I wish I'd ordered two breakfasts, it all looked so good 🤍

Great selection of sweet treats too with many of them vegan.

Great extra little touches that made this place extra special.. games to play at the table and our dog was offered some doggy biscuits.

Dog friendly and child friendly cafe with highchairs available. In the centre of Scarborough with indoor and outdoor seating. Fab prices, great value for money and were open on a Sunday 🙌
