Authentic Thai Flavours and Top-Notch Quality at Tanyalak, Hull

Tanyalak in Hull is a true hidden gem when it comes to authentic Thai cuisine. The quality of the food here is consistently outstanding—from the freshness of the ingredients to the bold, balanced flavours in every dish.

Each plate feels like it's been prepared with genuine care and passion. The curries are rich and deeply aromatic, the stir-fries perfectly seasoned, and the noodles cooked just right. You can really taste the difference in quality—nothing feels rushed or mass-produced.

One of the highlights is how well they balance spice and flavour. Whether you like it mild or fiery, every dish still manages to be complex and satisfying. The presentation is great too—colorful, inviting, and portioned just right.

If you're looking for delicious, high-quality Thai food in Hull, Tanyalak is absolutely worth a visit. Friendly service and a warm atmosphere just add to the overall experience. Highly...

Absolutely appalling service. The waitresses were rude, snappy and unapologetic for it. We asked if they had vegan options, which they only have 2 btw, and after that the waitress seemed annoyed with us. We ordered starters and mains, waited over an hour before they brought out our mains then became confused and tried to tell us we’d ordered something else, which was not vegan? Also did not give us our cutlery so we had to ask for it as well as our starters. After bringing out cutlery we decided to start eating without our starters, since we had a show to attend only for the waitress to come back half way through and say they lost the starters in the kitchen, which she could’ve found out when we’d asked her like 20 minutes before, and asked if we still wanted them (with an attitude may I add). Even if the food was good, it wasn’t worth the hassle, first and last time we’ll be...

Second row of deliveries that get extended and are never actually delivered. We've kept waiting for the food and despite calling the restaurant to enquire the status, they've blamed just eat drivers, which is not true, unfair and unprofessional, since other restaurants' orders have been arriving in time.

Update: okay, I've adjusted the review as to be fair and constructive, since the food is delicious!!

But please take this suggestion: if you know you are having issues with the drivers, perhaps extending waiting time upfront would avoid damaging the service reputation further.

The main problem is that when we ask for a delivery and the waiting period keep getting extended is frustrating, it also brings uncertainty on the delivery itself. If you were to tell me the waiting period was 01:30h upfront that would have been...

Real Thai food. Like a lot of people I’ve travelled around Thailand and found that I loved Thai soups and salads so I often base my ratings around whether or not they do a good soup or salads and this place nailed it. I’ve just started to spend one night a week in Hull and eaten in this place both times I’ve visited. I had the seafood Tom Yum the first time and Tom Yalay the second time. Both had a good selection of seafood and the flavour was perfect. The salad was a little on small side so I’d recommend having something more than just a salad, but then again, who gets just a salad. Unless you’re on a diet.

Nice, cosy little place to grab a bite to eat for lunch or dinner. I came from Scotland on business and was recommended to come here if I like spicy food. So I popped by one evening to give it a try. To start with I had the battered chicken pieces with sweet chilli sauce and it was fine but a little dry, nothing special, just what it says on the menu. You get 3 pieces which is fair. For the main I got a varied pad Thai. Chicken, rice and various vegetables. It tasted very good to be honest. Couldn't fault it. Lovely taste and bloody spicy 🥵🔥. Friendly staff also. Which is a bonus.

Authentic Thai food, big portion and friendly owner. As a Malaysian, Thailand is somewhere close to home and I have been loving thai cuisine. This restaurant serves excellent thai milk tea with strong tea taste, we ordered gang panaeng (curry), pad ga prao (stir fry meat dish with holy basil), Tom kha ( coconut milk creamy version of Tom yum soup). Believe it or not, I have no complaints of any dish that I ordered today, only satisfaction and big smile walking out the restaurant. Restaurant does not have many tables so do mind that it can get busy during meal times.
