The Gillygate Inn — Restaurant in England

Please please avoid this place and do not make the mistakes that I did. Booked this place on booking.com for a night away in York. The photos are nothing like the actual state of the place. The pub and the rooms are disgusting. Hygiene is non existent. I was put in room 6 where the mattress has totally gone, all the springs on either side are flat leaving lumps everywhere. There is a review on tripadvisor from 2019 from a traveller staying in room 6 advising the mattress needs to be replaced. The same mattress is still in that room 5 years later. The walls are black with paint peeling...

Listen....if you're out for a big night out getting absolutely gazebo'd, and crashing in the early hours then this is the place for it. Really close to the centre, good service.

But....if you want to sleep before 2am then avoid like the plague. I booked as I thought after 11pm it would be quieter... no such luck.

Pub is open till 1.30am and then people hang about outside

They should advertise the place ensuring you know it's open till 1.30am...as it was SOOOOO LOUD!

Also the bathrooms are a state....take flip flops and a dose of...

Not very happy with this place we stayed 3 days ago no breakfast available and said there was I told the girl in the bar where I had parked only to be told by a girl in the car park I might get a ticket and then went to hand over the keys for the room and a lad was standing outside waiting for the place to open he said it was his second day and the place was shut up , so left the keys with him as there was know one the to give them too really disappointing as it was brilliant the last time we stayed hopefully I won't get a...
