The Liverpool Arms — Restaurant in England

This bar used to be my regular several years ago. Sadly it would appear that non-regulars are not particularly welcome. Three staff behind the bar, one of whom blatantly ignored me. It was not busy. A muted head tilt in my direction from one of the other barmen indicated that he was ready to serve me. Words, a smile or welcoming gesture were not on the cards. With the exception of stating the price of the drinks, he managed to remain tight lipped and stony faced. My money was taken, my change was given. No thank yous. No eye contact. Scrunched up change from a £20 note. Rude. Not going back there in a hurry. Not of course that they are either likely to miss me in the future or...

The two ladies that own this are absolutely amazing, friendly chatty everything you'd want from pub landlords. The barmam was absolutely spot-on, equally friendly and chatty which is what you want when you're going into a bar as a single person, and you don't just want to sit around in your own company.

The tables were clean and not sticky like some venues they can be, theres plenty of seating or you can stand around and prop the bar up 😊.

In my opinion, an unpleasant smell throught the pub but worse in the toilets. Lots of small flies in the air and on the tables, worse in the toilets. Incence sticks being burned to disguise the awful smell. The single cask ale (Speckled Hen) looked good and clear but tasted stale and acid. Good replacement pint of Guinness finished in haste. Pleasant and friendly service. Not a pub to linger in...
