The staff were shocking.the service was very slow..the attitude of the manager was SHOCKING We visited with friends from the USA who also had their 2 elderly mums with them and wanted to experience British tradition We ordered food,4 main 2 childs meals for the mums as they can not eat big meals due to various health issues Around 45 minutes had gone by, and some of the food arrived One of the mums asked for a salad dressing to which the manager replied "we don't supply dressing to a child's meal and a child's meal is for 10 years and under" all very well but why not consider smaller meals for senior people that CANNOT eat a full meal. 2 ice creams were ordered after the snide comment by the manager, and again, after a very long wait, around 30 minutes, we had to chase the items. 10 minutes later, only 1 turned up, and we were waiting AGAIN for the other icecream We were on a tight time schedule and did inform the staff, but they were not interested in the slightest After speaking to a staff member, she informed me that the manager had gone to the kitchen to sort the issue, the attitude of the staff member was shocking. when the so called manager came back from the kitchen area she ignored us.i approached her and asked why everything was taking so long.Again i got no joy. I requested a refund, to which she refused and said she could not give a refund and we would have to wait. YET AGAIN, she made another remark about children's meals. We feel like because the menu did not cater for senior people, we were discriminated against, and this is why we were made to wait We had to leave without the ice cream for one of the elderly mums and without a refund. SHOCKING BEHAVIOUR. What a great advert for British hospitality.. Unless you want to pay for a bad service shocking attitude and to be honest what was not very good...

Although busy the pub still had lots of tables available and therefore one would assume able to cope with the amount of covers. Unfortunately the warning bells (I should’ve heeded) started to ring at the order point.. no this, no that, 30mins wait. I shrugged it off, no problem I thought. I can amuse the kids for half an hour. 45 minutes later and a change of drinks order because they’d run out of apple juice the food still hadn’t arrived and a member of staff was telling another table there’s now an hour wait. Two small kids gnawing at the crayons was enough for me to speak up; the staff was very apologetic and offered a refund, drinks, snacks.. up to us. We opted to wait and the kids got a packet of crisps that kept them happy for a bit. When the food did arrive it really wasn’t worth the wait, I ordered the burger and fries.. at around £10 I was expecting something reasonable I might go to get from whetherspoons or another mass chain. It looked and tasted on a par with McDonald’s, although the chips are better at McDonald’s. For £6 the kids got 3 dry cheap looking fish fingers, a few chips and some dry peas. After hoping for the cutlery to be brought to the table I thought it best to take that job in to my own hands and get that too; no one came to check if things were ok, or if we needed anything. We over heard staff telling another table they had two chefs on today. I would suggest the management need to have some reserves to call up if some were off today or maybe employ more for the school holidays on a permanent basis. So what was good was the serving staff was very apologetic and I can’t blame them for the wait etc, perhaps the logistics of running a busy pub in a popular tourist spot at half term needs some brain storming sessions at management level so the floor staff don’t...

I came into the pub to watch the England Euros last week and wanted to leave my feedback.

A young lady with short pink hair and glasses in a long skirt (we sadly didnt get her name) served me and my friends all night and she was a delight! It was incredibly busy and the poor girl was clearly rushed off her feet but she was nonetheless happy and helpful, for how busy it was we didn't have to wait particularly long for our drinks, we had expected we would have had a bit of a wait as we were ordering on the app due to the bar being so busy but we were very impressed. we also witnessed an altercation between some drunk gentlemen and this young lady and she handled it outstandingly despite getting drinks poured all over her during the altercation and having numerous men shouting abuse at her, she carried on with her job and had bouncers downstairs promptly to handle the situation and apologised to tables around for the inconvenience on their evening, which I personally think was going above and beyond as the fault was evidently not hers.

I myself have worked in hospitality for years and understand how stressful big events like the Euros can be and just wanted to pass on my feedback as I was so impressed with this lady, such a shame we didn't get her name, but we will definetly be back...

Cheap cocktails but the food was ghastly. Ordered bog standard Hunters Chicken with chips. Dried out overcooked chips, dried out peas and rubbery watery chicken and bbq sauce. Really disappointed as it's a favourite of mine. Looked like it had been under a heat lamp for way too long waiting to be sent to the table. My Wife had chicken korma with rice and separate chips. They too were dried out. Told a member of staff and they replaced one of the sets of chips but obviously we had to wait for them to be cooked. Sorry folks but it was like a budget boozer meal from one of those W......S....... places. I always review truthfully so heed the warning and avoid the food. Photo of original chips and replacement ones. Sorry The Old Bank, maybe you were busy or something but poor performance.

A bit of a mixed experience mid-Sunday afternoon. Beer and bar service was good, with couple of Ilkley Brewery beers on tap. However, two of our three meals arrived so far ahead of the third, that we’d almost finished them before my wife got hers (with her permission, I hasten to add!). My son’s chicken burger didn’t seem to have any of the Korean sauce requested, but I have to say my Katsu chicken with waffle fries was pretty tasty. However, when my wife’s fish-finger sub sandwich finally did arrive, it was pretty disappointing, with a paltry number of under-cooked chips on the side. Great for beer, but we won’t be back for food on the strength of this visit.

Stopped here for Sunday lunch on a busy Sunday. Most places were booked up, but we walked into the Old Bank, and got a great table by the window, no problems. A couple of hand pulled beers on, well kept, so all set. The young guys serving behind the bar were very happy and helpful. We ordered 2 beef Sunday lunches ( as you do) what could go wrong. The food arrived after a little too long, and was , at best disappointing. If you bought an ASDA microwave ready meal, you would get the idea. The pub itself seems a great place for a few hours and a few good ales, for a good Sunday lunch, maybe try elsewhere.
