Luckily plenty of better places in Christchurch to enjoy. Whilst we were there 50% of the customers complained about the quality of their drinks refusing to drink them. Could not serve one other person a tea they'd ordered , instead without asking them gave them a completely different flavour. Strange ! Wasn't a warm welcome on entering and weren't given a menu , just asked what we wanted and unfortunately the waitress was not confident with the order and might have been better writing it down. Now I thought it was expensive but didn't question the bill and have just checked it . WARNING, I've been charged a wildlife donation, what is a wildlife donation, wasn't asked or made aware of this , disgusting really. Then charged 12.5% service charge, really ? Again, wasn't told and yes I should have checked my bill, I know, just warning others. £30 for 3 coffees and 3 small cakes, £4.50 each , no way. I give more positive feedback but needed to review this because it was so . One chance to make a...
Read moreWent here for lunch a couple of weeks ago and had a great meal and good service. We thought we’d found a great new eatery in the area. Having gone back to take my elderly mother out for her birthday, we won’t be going back again. Food was generally okay (although what’s going on with those ‘sticky pigs’?) but the service was so beyond slow and there was no attempt to manage our expectations up front, or even recognition when it was slow. On mentioning it to the waitress when the bill came, she said ‘oh yes, we have a big table in tonight’ - brilliant! What I assume was the owner seemed more interested in siting at the bar than his customers. The waitress clearly hasn’t been trained either as she just piled up the plates on the table when clearing up, felt like we were in a school canteen. They didn’t even bother to thank us for coming or say goodbye when we left. It just felt like they didn’t give a monkeys. Good service is so easy to give and it...
