I have been to this pub 3 times since pubs were re-opened - it is now my 'pub of choice' and i recommend it to friends. Whilst my (now ex) local pub is too 'relaxed' for me about social distancing and caring about safe practice, the management and the helpful, friendly staff in the Waggon and Horses have obviously worked hard to create a safe environment for their punters. They are a brilliant example of how businesses can overcome these challenging times and still provide a great environment for people to meet up and enjoy a few drinks in comfort (outdoor heaters, table service) and genuine safety. Read moreI was enjoying a few drinks in this place with the family and my 78 year old mother when my brother had his drink thrown on the floor and was asked to leave by a Napoleon doorman for standing near the door gate (although definitely not obstructing access). Supposedly there's a megalomaniac of a glass collector that seems to be to be the instigator that was laughing ask we left the premises. One definitely to avoid as you can get into trouble without doing anything. I spent nearly £150 in there so they don't care if you're a profitable client. I and a friend were refused entry for no reason other than i was wearing a football shirt band this despite in previous years / seasons having popped in here for a drink. i can understand if there have been issues with away fans in the past so refuse them entry. however not two old Brighton supporting farts looking for a pint in town. it’s a shame as they’re not only alienating local residents on match days but now i’ll go elsewhere when i head into town on...
