A very pleasing find when I was desperate for a reviving coffee after a torrid train journey. It was heaving in Scarborough so I looked down the side streets and spotted Walkers. I was surprised to find it was a lot bigger than it first appeared and very clean and tidy. They were having some problems with the card machine but this was quickly resolved. I had a really good coffee and treated myself to a lemon drizzle muffin which was delicious! I didn’t have time for a meal but the menu looked really good; will definitely come back. Edit: July 2025 a return visit although I didn’t have a meal, just a very good oat milk americano and a piece of gluten free millionaire shortbread which was superb! The coffee shop is over 3 floors but I sat in the main ground floor area-I was in the Naughty Corner😹 This cafe is popular with customers of all ages. Well worth a visit!

A mediocre coffee shop with extremely courteous and swift service. The coffee lacks body and flavour and while it was quiet for the first few minutes a gaggle of extremely loud females had built up to an ear shattering competition to discover who could create the most offensive din. This is not the venue for people who dislike an environment dedicated to the bellowing harridans holding a competition to see who could make the greatest noise.

Lost its unique selling point, gone are the books and little nooks now its more tables, standard cafe affair of paninis, drinks and shop bought cakes. About 20% more expensive than it should be based on quality. Such a shame really wanted to enjoy the place. It's now just another cafe in Scarborough of which there are plenty...

This was our first visit to Walkers and we loved it from entering. It’s extremely welcoming and friendly with a laid-back atmosphere. It was obvious that the cafe has many regulars as the staff were greeting people by name. We only went in for a coffee (which was great) but after seeing the food enjoyed by the customers in there, we decided to have an early lunch. What a great decision that was. The baked potatoes were properly cooked in an oven for two hours and served with an extremely well presented dressed salad and coleslaw. The panini was also amazing served with the dressed salad and coleslaw. Walkers of Bar Street is a must visit if you are...

We stumbled upon this place by accident and I'm so glad we did! What a gem! As we usually go into town on Sundays we never had the pleasure before as it was closed but we were in on Saturday we called in, we had 2 cappuccinos and 2 fruit scones, coffee were delicious and hot and their fruit scones were the best we ever had, we were looking at the food as it was served to other customers and it looked beautiful! We will be visiting next Saturday for a panini and of course a scones! Inside this cafe had a lovely atmosphere with plenty of others sat chatting and enjoying the food. Overall a great experience and we highly recommend ...
