Waterfront Hull — Restaurant in England

I and my friend entered the club at about 12:15am on the 8 of June, 2025 and in less than an hour I was attacked viciously by a couple guys who were also clubbing because I asked them to stop shoving us. I received a hit with a beer bottle on my head, before 2 security guys came in at the 3rd floor and then proceeded to tell me to calm down. I explained the situation to them yet nothing was done. I had to go down myself to speak to the security manager at the entrance who told me that he didn’t receive any report of an incident at all which was weird considering the event that had just taken place. He tend radioed the club manager who went to do some findings about what had happened but to my surprise, they said there was nothing on the footage. They said there’s nothing that could be done that I can decide either go back inside or choose to leave if I don’t feel safe enough to stay. I ended up losing my glasses, luckily I found my necklace but it all makes me wonder. Sugar Mill is located at the top of old town in Hull. It is open most nights of the week, student nights and the weekend, including bank holidays. The place is well kept, clean and the staff are helpful and friendly. There is no on site parking, and parking nearby is restricted. There is a taxi area a 5minute walk into old town, or 15 minutes to St stephens black cabs.

Inside is an old rustic setting, a well maintained building. The prices of drinks on a weekend are cheaper before 8pm, and after are raised higher than the surrounding area. There is a wide varity of drinks, no food is served. They are open until 3:30am, and play mostly modern music on the bottom floor. The middle floor is more 90s/2000s, and the top floor is more rap/Reggea and rock music, Though they do also play songs on request.

Worst Nightclub I'd ever been to. Went back in January 2023. I was extremely drunk (and I do tend to get slightly narcissistic when highly drunk) but most people there were extremely hostile and completely against socialising. Interacting with someone would likely result in a punch as a response. While there, I was assaulted twice, threatened with physical violence, and when I was defended, their "bouncers" (thugs) responded by assaulting me and the person who defended me by violently dragging us out, and forcefully sending us off down the steps, while highly intoxicated, with no regard for balance issues (as intoxication obviously heavily impairs your balance.)

It is filled with people visibly looking for a fight, which completely ruins the experience. I'll never go here again. It is undoubtedly the worst nightclub I've ever been to in my life.
