The newly opened BrewDog in Hull finally brings something new to Prince’s Quay The lower deck of Prince’s Quay in Hull has been under utilised since the closure of the Disney Store, Burger King & JJB Sports many years ago. Nando’s & Superbowl U.K. raised some interest when they opened but nothing much has happened since until now. After having success around the country, it is now time for Hull to get the full BrewDog & Red’s True BBQ experience. The bar itself is welcoming and very large, with plenty of areas for seating and standing. Free retro arcade & pinball were a real highlight for my son (it is also very family friendly) as well as a game of shuffle board (which you have to pay £6 for and is a little expensive). The service is very good, with our waiter Joshua doing an excellent job. He provided free samples of the many beers on offer so the party of friends could taste test their choices before committing to a full drink and he also was very knowledgeable about the beers on offer. He clearly liked his job. The main reason for the visit was the food however and while very good, the main dishes are expensive. We chose the BBQ Tray for £21 and paid the extra £5 for ribs, thinking it would be something my wife & I could share. While there was probably too much for one person, splitting it between two people just didn’t work as both of use left was left a bit hungry a few hours later. If you did go for Tray each with ribs, this would make it an extremely expensive night out. Our friend was very disappointed in the Vegan “Clucky this time” burger, while it tasted fine and the red coloured bud definitely raised the presentation, again the price was too high at £10.50 just for the burger with no sides. The best value however was the Kid’s “Hoopy Meal”. At £6.50 for a burger, fries, drink, a milk pop ice cream & a fun BrewDog pin badge, this was great value. Overall we would definitely visit again but chose a cheaper food option for the adults. The atmosphere was good, the service was fantastic and the food tasted great but prices might need to be looked at, especially when it comes to the BBQ trays. There is much to recommend at BrewDog but just don’t expect a cheap night out.

Visited on Sunday for a quieter experience. I had friends who have visited separately and they warned me it way pricey so I was expecting that and the star rating is not based on price. I asked at the bar if they did cocktails which I was told they did not so I ordered a pint for partner and a double vodka coke for myself which came to just under £15 and despite it being fairly empty the drinks took a while to be served, possibly new untrained staff as the girl who was serving my order wasn't sure which one the vodka bottle was and went off to inspect a few before finding it. We also ordered food, I had the donut burger and a side of mac and cheese (all burgers come by themselves with no sides, chips etc are all ordered separately), partner had a pit burger with loaded fries (the only decent sized side) . I noticed on the menu also that they had a cocktail list so I was disappointed I missed out/that they're advirtising that without doing them. Food arrived and it was okay but I wouldn't return for it, nothing special and very small portions considering it's American /bbq themed. The mac and cheese had a very off putting smokey/burnt taste but the dish itself wasn't burnt so I added sauce and carried on eating - we did request mayo on the food arrival but was informed they don't do it which is a bit odd as they have ketchup/mustard /bbq and relish options. The music was a bit off putting, one minute it was indie /soft rock and the next it was metal screaming out, I enjoy all music but do think they should stick to one genre of a more easy listening when it's a food setting not a club. All in all, disappointing experience and we left pretty hungry. Couldn't help but look out of the window across the street at Furley in the sun and wish we'd just gone there 😂

Upon walking in for the preopening event, I was greeted by friendly members of staff. My favourite staff member was Josh. I like the way he came up to the table and spoke to me, upon seeing my sunflower lanyard. He was eager to understand what support I might need. He also checked on me and my friend throughout the evening and night. He answered every question I had and put to bed any anxieties I had.

The bar staff were very knowledgeable about the drinks they serve and gave great recommendations. Prices were good considering the extra will go to offset the carbon impact my purchase had on the planet. I had the Pineapple Passion, it was really nice whilst still not being overpowering.

As for the food, I ordered the kids chicken nugget meal with fries. The chicken itself was succulent, one of the best I've tried. Since I have autism, tastes can be overwhelming for me. Sadly due to a mishap with deliveries, they had to use paprika coated ones. Whilst very overwhelming for me, it made me wish I could handle spices. The mishap is to be corrected ASAP I've been reassured. There are bound to be errors when opening a new bar and location.

Much of the place is accessible to those with additional mobility needs and there is an accessible toilet. From what I experienced, staff gave me extra time and explained this to me more when they noticed I was confused or nervous. I would say it's accessible to those with hidden disabilities too. There are plenty of vegan options and options for those with gluten allergies.

The outside area is lovely, especially with the lights.

I would recommend Brewdog Hull, especially if you love barque. If you don't like barque, there are limited options but the kids chicken nugget meal is absolutely gorgeous, as are the fries! The vanilla cheesecake was the best I've tried, although was a tad pricier than I anticipated. As said before, this will probably be to offset the carbon impact. Brewdog Hull is carbon neutral (See brewdog website). Climate change is very serious and I'm really glad Brewdog Hull are taking steps to help the planet as...

Our team recently visited BrewDog for a staff night out, and while it was overall an enjoyable experience, there were a few aspects that could use improvement. One of the main disappointments was the lack of clarity regarding the 'endless wings' offer. We were excited about indulging in this feature but discovered it wasn’t available for our large group when we arrived. It's understandable that accommodating a large group with such an offering might be difficult, but this should be communicated clearly during the booking process to manage expectations effectively. Clear information upfront would prevent any misunderstandings and set a positive tone from the start.

However, the evening wasn’t without its highlights. The various dishes we ordered turned out to be exceptional, with the doughnut burger stealing the show. This unique combination was a hit with everyone, offering a delightful mix of sweet and savory flavors that we hadn’t experienced before. It’s definitely a must-try for anyone planning a visit.

The beer experience was another enjoyable aspect. BrewDog’s option to taste before committing to a full glass was a huge plus. It allowed us to explore their diverse range of brews without the regret of a full glass we might not appreciate. This tasting process added an interactive layer to our evening, making it both fun and informative.

Furthermore, I must commend the staff for their friendliness and attentiveness. Despite the hiccup with the wings, the team at BrewDog was accommodating and friendly, ensuring that our needs were met and that we felt welcome. Their readiness to help and ensure we had a great time truly made a difference in our experience.

In conclusion, while the issue with not having access to the endless wings was disappointing for our large party, the high quality of food, engaging beer tasting, and attentive service left us with positive feelings overall. Addressing this communication gap could enhance the overall experience for large groups in the future, allowing BrewDog to continue being a top choice for...
