Take The Exit Escape Room Hull — Local services in Great Britain

I have played two fun rooms at Take The Exit:

DOLLHOUSE Two friends and I came to escape from the Dollhouse.

While I love the creative concept of this room, extra features could be included to make the whole experience a lot more sinister. There was only one moment that gave our team a bit of a spook, which is a slight let-down since it claims to be ‘Hull’s scariest escape room’. However, the props and furniture etc do give off an overall ominous ambience.

As a team of three, we broke out with about a quarter of our time left and we only needed one hint: it is an easy challenge. Because of its straightforward puzzles, I’d say it’s actually a good one for newbies. Two of us have already done a fair few escape rooms, though.

THE CHAPEL Another escape with my family, and my second visit to Take the Exit.

Puzzle-wise, there were broad themes of religion, magic and folklore attached to them. It was great how different members of our teams contributed to different solutions. There was a good, albeit basic mix.

As for décor, a good effort was made, but the surroundings had more of a generic, spooky attic feel to them. More could have been in place to amplify a haunted chapel ambience. Once again, opportunities to include scares were overlooked. There were parts of the room I observed and thought 'Ooh, this is going to be frightening' that didn't amount to anything.

It was definitely trickier than Doll House, but we only needed one hint, and that was for something we'd already worked out. There's lots to do, so six didn't actually feel too large a group for this one. A friendly and...

Well what can I say. This was our 1st experience of an escape room and we were not disappointed. From the moment I messaged too arriving, Mathew was very friendly and welcoming. Putting us all at ease. The birthday card was a wonderful touch. We escaped the Doll House with 10 seconds to spare but we did it. We enjoyed every minute of it. All the puzzles were well thought out and the room was really creepy.. thank you for scaring me lol. Loved it! Wanted to do something a bit different for my birthday and I'm glad we chose to go here. Right from walking in the host was great, talked us through what to expect and was on the other end of a walkie talkie to help us out if we needed it. The game itself was well structured and had a few surprises along the way and obviously I got the most valuable player award 😀 can't wait for more rooms to try out.
