Such an amazing restaurant in the centre of Swansea! We've just came back to the hotel and can't stop talking about our great dinner experience in Abyssinia Restaurant. First of all, it's a true gem. I found this restaurant online (we're just visiting Swansea) as it had amazing reviews, with a focus on proper, true Ethiopian food and we decided to give it a try! Omg that was such a great choice. The restaurant is large, comfortable, with clear menu and photos (for us it was super helpful as we never had a chance to try Ethiopian food before). The owners and staff are amazing, incredibly nice, sweet and helpful!!! The prices are great, very affordable. The DISHES are soooooo generous and tasty, they were served on the injera and it was such an amazing and new experience for us. The serving was beautiful with all the typical for Ethiopia accents and traditions. We were sooo happy we had a chance to come here. And the coffee... Omg that was easily the BEST coffee I have ever had served, now I'm gonna cry with my usual everyday morning coffee because it would be never soooo gooood as the traditionally roasted one we had in Abyssinia. The Lady was soooo lovely and gave us the precious herb to plant in our house 💖💖💖 We can't wait to visit this beautiful place again 😍😍😍😍😍

Abyssinia Restaurant was an absolute delight! The atmosphere was superb – from the beautiful, authentic décor to the warm and welcoming service, it truly felt like a complete cultural experience. We ordered a big platter with injera, chicken, beef, lamb, and vegetarian options all served together, and wow – the food was incredibly delicious! Honestly, it was just the two of us, and we couldn’t even finish it. Everything was so flavorful that we found ourselves eating quickly and getting full in no time. The service was amazing too – our server had such a kind smile the whole time, which made the experience even better. For drinks, my partner had a fresh mango juice, and I went for the avocado with milk – both were delightful and refreshing. For the price, quality, and experience, this place is a true gem. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Ethiopian dining experience. Superb all around!

A wonderful, authentic Ethiopian restaurant. All dishes appear to be prepared to order, so expect a little wait for your food. But it is well worth it. We were a mixed Ethiopian/British family group, and consensus was that this was some of the best Ethiopian cuisine we have had in UK. Dishes ordered: Mahberawi and Yeberie Lega Tibs. Enough for a family of X4 to share with plenty of injera - the injera wasn't too "heavy" - I struggle to eat more than a small amount usually... We also enjoyed the Tej - home made Ethiopian Honey Wine, and Bhuna - traditional Ethiopian coffee. Great value and well worth a visit!!!

I had an incredible meal at this restaurant yesterday with my two friends and can’t recommend it enough! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, inviting atmosphere.

We ordered a mixed platter that included a variety of traditional dishes like doro wat, misir wot, and shiro, some dishes with chicken lamb vegetables and egg and others all served on a bed of soft, tangy injera. Every bite was packed with flavor, spices perfectly balanced, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. The injera was especially good it was light, spongy, and just the right amount of sour.

The staff was more than happy to explain the dishes and offer suggestions, which we really appreciated. Whether you're new to Ethiopian food or a regular, this place is a must-try. I’ll...
